How the Marx Brothers hold their appeal and influence

And some short classic clips . . .

I used to love watching them on Saturday nights when I was a kid. Shirley Temple and the Marx Brothers, both. Groucho had a game show I used to watch, too, but I don't remember the name of it.

I think that was "You Bet Your Life". Several presenters hosted it over the years but there's only one Groucho.

As a child I grew up on wholesome, hilarious comedy such as the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, The Keystone Cops, The Goon Show, etc, mainly because they were my Dad and Grandads' favourite programmes, so we had to watch them.

When I was growing up, even though I was born AFTER they last acted, they were ALL still popular, and I watched them. IRONIC! I was born LONG AFTER the keystone cops and Charlie chaplin. I was born about the time that laurel and hardy, harpo and chico died. About the time I was born, Shirley temple got her star for the work she finished earlier.

Somehow though, they were still just as famous and enjoyable. HECK, I even remember going to a straw hat pizza place in LA COUNTY. I LOVED the pizza, I got my first pizza there. I loved the projected baseball game you could play, and the various laurel and hardy, marx brothers, etc... films they showed.

Same as me, Steve. I have some box dvd and video collections that I still pull out every now and then, when the troubles of the modern world gets everyone down.
