Change is coming.

Customized instructions might be projected onto the windshield or shown on a dashboard display. (Traffic) Lights will be created on demand when two cars are trying to cross an intersection and they will be turned down "as soon as we don't need them,"
A very interesting article.

Virtual traffic lights as in-car systems go with the real road flow

The inference I get from this crap is that people are no longer smart or lucid enough to handle a car without instruction. I don't like the idea of being on the road with people who need intervention from machinery to tell them what to do.

      Another dumb idea!

What happens when 4 cars get to a roundabout which used to have lights? Technically no one can move; this has happened to me a few times with these stupid additions to AU roads, and usually someone breaks the checkmate and goes first!

When l was in Melbourne, they had new tram stops, with audio updates to road conditions, etc.

Of course you could hear the voice from half a km away, and dumb ad's were included!

Just as bad as the new dumb bike lanes in Melb, there is a higher ledge now to separate the bike lane, (which is basically part of the pedestrian walkway, we have a dumb Mayer, who goes overseas all the time, and gets silly ideas).

I tripped on this more than once, inbetween bike riders flying past!

Yes, if you are coming to Melb, watch out for this crap outside of Museum Station, (Flinders Street).
