Greetings.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Moog Theremin and I was wondering if anyone here has one or has ever played with one? I've wanted one of these for many years and I think it could be a lot of fun to play around with.

Any experiences to share?

Cheers. - Frank

Didn't he play for the Brewers in the '70's?

The old Jarre trick eh, updated. Looks like fun (based on a you-tube vid I watched) but of course it's a live performance thing only.

Well, I did talk to a salesman at B&H about that, but I believe I'd prefer the Etherwave. I always get a good deal more satisfaction out of struggling to learn, if not master something new. The Mini looks like it makes it way too easy to get proficient, for lack of a better word. I can't find any reviews on the Mini.

I have actually wanted one of these ever since I used to listen to Lothar and the Hand People. Until you've heard the Everly Brothers' 'Bye-Bye Love, with a touch of theremin, you ain't heard nuthin'. :-)

Well, now I have to decide if I want my DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ V3.0 drone first or second. I think I'll get the theremin now and the drone in the spring. It's cold out there. lol

Thanks for your input. - Frank

Frank, I went to college in Asheville NC and still have friends into all sorts of music there. Several played the instruments and all seem to enjoy and have fun with them. Never knew anyone who said meh, and left it in the corner, so guess I'm saying go for it and enjoy yourself!

Well, that settles that. I don't think I could live without a Theremini. I'm ordering that puppy, tomorrow.

      Thanks. - Frank

so have you decided upon the moog theremini?

at this stage the moog etherewave is more expandable, but i am sure this will come, in a short time for the moog theremini

i would suggest, if you have the opportunity, to check out the burns range. they are are noticeably cheaper and, in my opinion, at least as good.

i swapped my etherwave for a burns b3 and it was lust at first sight

sounds better with a valve amp, i think

but i agree moog has the infrastructure and research behind it

i know you will love it, which ever one you decide on

Yes - I have changed my mind on this.

I'm sure this is more than adequate for my needs.

Well, the next time I muster any lust it ain't gonna be over an inanimate object. Trust me on this. :-)
