Every time I get all the boxes in the house cleared out, our things organized and put away or up in the proper places, dust, vacuum, get the house looking awesome, hubby brings in more!!

I got rid of half of my clothes, half of my shoes and tonnage of books, knick-knacks and what-nots before we even moved. I'm getting frustrated!

I want to throw a lot of stuff away and give a lot to charity as well, but hubby wants me to have a yard sale in the Spring. I sooo am not a yard sale kinda girl. So I told him that he would have to do it!

He said he would! he just lied to me, didn't he?

I'm doomed!

Help!!

  • Yes. No man, left to his own volition, plans a yard sale.

I hope the "half your shoes" you got rid of were selected pairs, rather than all the right ones, or all the left ones?

Do you have charity shops that will collect stuff from you, in their little van, like we do? This is an ideal way to de-clutter. It has great speed and efficiency in its favor, as well as "being civic-minded" etc. ... if you can talk your husband into it.

    • Yes, they were pairs, lol!

With all of the stuff I have donated already, we have receipts totaling $3,000.

We do have charities that will pick up stuff, but it must be furniture and big items.

Hey, that gives me an idea!

I need an evil smiley, hehe!

When we finally agree on the new furniture and it gets delivered, I can call Good Will, Fish, or Purple Heart and have them pick up the old couches (3) and chairs (4), I can have them load up all of the boxes currently being stored out in the pole barn waiting for the big event too!

      I like it!

I'll just have to come up with something spectacular to offset the anger I induce in hubby.

      Hmmm...

  • Somehow I predict a lot of stuff piled up in the pole barn until spring. gaak.

I know how ya feel, though - I'm absolutely sick of boxing and unboxing right now. Glad I left most of it all in my trailer for storage.
  • I have a few more boxes left. My phone, I believe, is gone. My ex landlady's daughter is out of jail and the last night of work I came home to find a little money and a few items including my phone gone. I was hoping she'd just used it and put it somewhere in my stuff but it seems to be gone.

I have 3 more boxes to check for it. Not sure what I'm going to do - get a new cell phone or just do skype. I don't think I should need a cell here, but might opt for one anyhow. I'll figure it out by Friday. Anyhow - All calls are held until I either find my old phone or get a new one, girl. Sigh. I'm so glad to be out of the Parana pits. I loved Central OR aesthetically, but socially and economically it's gone downhill into landfill status as far as I saw there. It's a shame, too - it was an awesome area before conglomerate corporations took it over.
  • Interesting how the OT female 'triangle' all moved about the same time: Kay, Terra, Sal.

Some people say there's no such thing as coincidence. I think not. hm hm hm

  • James Taylor and Carly Simon were married and have a daughter named - you guessed it - Sally Taylor. So, the post is about her, sort of. And their son's name is - you guessed it - Kim. (Just kidding about their son's name. His name is Ben.)

(Hmmm. Taylor Swift admires James Taylor (get the Taylor connection) and Carly Simon (performed "You're
So Vain" with her, and I'm certain that she has a pair of Louboutin shoes. Maybe she has a part in this world domination plot. Just connecting dots. Just sayin'.)

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have met 2 or 3 men named Kimberly. It is confusing.

Back in the day when I worked with lawyers and other yuppies who were dead serious about their professional careers, there were a lot of women who would use their first initial and then middle name to make people think they were a man. Something like D. Sam Smith, Esq. This was in the mid 80's and even then men did automatically get more authority. When I first started that job, people took my word more than my female co-workers who had been doing the job a lot longer. One of those women was my supervisor and the second in charge of the office.

@Terra - I swiped your words about love and will always give credit where it is due. Beautiful.

    • Taylor is my married name. I didn't change it back because I was ticked off about the amount they wanted to heist from me to return my name to me - and figured I'd just marry again anyhow. By the time I figured I might choose to never marry again, everyone knew me as Taylor so I've kept it.

Also -- If you take note of any ebooks I've got out that aren't PLR, the name on the by-line is S.A. Taylor. The fiction I'm dabbling with now (forever now, it seems) will be under a nom de plume.

    • Thanks, but that's not even the romantic version, lol!

Oh, and swiped for what? Haha!

  • Reminder, in case his wavy avatar is not enough, don't listen to Riffle.
    He's a Buckeye, don't ya' know.

And no matter what, don't ask him or Claude about their trip to an isolated state.

As for me, there's this thing called the internet that seems to let people meet people
from all over the world via something called dating sites. I might just give it a try.
Not the Plenty of Fish one because TBird says you have to be kind to fish, and
I read somewhere - can't imagine where - that they don't like older people.

Or, Terra, maybe I'll just do something with some of those words for a teespring
campaign and send you your portion.

    • Haha! I see what you did there.

The dust I can ignore, the boxes, not so much. I keep stubbing my toes on them.

And no, my ear doesn't bleed when I stub my toe. lol!

  • I'd say throw it out, you aren't a yardsale kinda girl. Make room for more Pink!
    • [1] reply
    • I can't just throw it out knowing there are people in need, I do plan to donate it though.

I know there is no way hubby will have a yard sale himself and I won't have one either, sooo...

As for pink? Yeah, Baby! One can never have too much pink!!
