Watch this guys videos and learn some logical modern sales strategies.

Some of the videos may be scripted but he is damn good at what he does.

I think, while some of the attitudes needed ie confidence, etc are similar, selling cars and internet marketing aren't the same -
In my humble opinion, we don't have to be car salesmen to be good Internet marketers. Some of you will disagree. And that's ok.

I couldn't even get through one video of his - he is far too aggressive for me. It was rather distasteful.

    Again -

    to each their own.

I thought he was rather boring if you ask me. I didn't finish the video, or even half of it.

You've got to grab my attention quickly, or I move on. I don't do yawn fests.

I watched about 30 seconds. I didn't care for his approach.

Maybe his personality and approach appeals more to men than women...?

I doubt that - it certainly doesn't appeal to me.

Not in my opinion. Far from it.

            I think he's a bit of a dinosaur.

I have no particular interest in the subject, really, but even among my very small group of acquaintances, I know one or two people who are far better at selling than he is. I'm sure Claude could teach him a lot (but might not be willing to, and I wouldn't blame him ).

I did not buy him either.

The Offline section of Warrior Forum is very educational when it comes to sales and marketing
strategies. Grant Cardone and Jordan Belfort videos have been posted and discussed recently.

Several Warriors who post there could sell rings around the big names in sales and marketing
education, and they offer their very valuable, real world experience to each thread they participate
    in, providing a custom experience.

I watched a couple of his videos. Not bad for car salesmen.

The problem with sales training for automobile dealerships is that it's stuck in the 1980s. And car salespeople churn the same techniques, over and over again. There is no real improvement. The industry seems really bulletproof to improving it's methodology.

The industry is still one step away from slick back hair, pink shoes, and a cigar.

It's the only type of sales niche that I avoid. I won't take car salespeople as clients, and I won't speak at their events. It's just too encased in it's own culture.

But for sales training for car salesmen? He's one of the better ones.

    Added later;
To be fair, over generations, our society has defined the car buying experience as adversarial. We fully expect to be taken advantage of. We expect to negotiate. We expect certain tactics. We expect the transaction to be stressful.
We think of car salesmen the same way we did 50 years ago.

And our experience is re-enforcing that stereotype.

The last car I bought, I just told the salesman "Take $1,500 off the sticker, and I'll write the check". I knew they would still make money, and I didn't want to waste time. The guy still had to go through multiple visits to the manager...counter offer.....dance around payments...... I finally said "Look, It's an easy sale. Don't fu8k it up. Just .......say........Yes". And he did. After I left, he probably "High Fived" the other guys, because he thought he made a sale. He probably thinks he "Closed" me. The truth is, it could have been 5 minutes total, for a fast commission. And despite everything he did...I still bought.

They are stuck in the ritual of how they sell. And we are stuck in the ritual of how we buy a car. Both keep the business in the Dark Ages.

Watched one of his videos. Wasn't bad, but it seems so dated.

Customer says they want to shop around - he defines the reason the customer wants to shop around, and then addresses it. Look, I've solved the problem! You agreed that was the problem, now you've no excuse!

I've no doubt it works, and I'd say he's very successful, but I must admit I wouldn't buy anything from someone that pushy.

As an aside, I don't know what kind of rules there are for credit intermediaries in the States, but talking about the finance that flippantly would have you fined to hell and back over here.

      Interesting, thanks, Claude.

I was wondering about that, recently, when reading the Malcolm Gladwell book about outliers in which he has a chapter or two about a "top-performing car salesman".

(I bought my car almost entirely "by email"! ).

Hey Lexy, Did you need a special email address for him to email the car to you? I assume most addresses are not big enough.

The buying process, not the delivery ... although, these days, with 3D printers ...

Cars have already been printed with 3D printers. I plan to get a 3 D printer for printing out metal products... One of these days. Don't know what they cost (as much as a house?)

If you knew how low a mileage I've done in this car, since buying it, you wouldn't believe me, and I'd be really embarrassed. If I just took a taxi every time I went out "by car", instead of having the car, I'd have saved a fortune, so far.

Double talking car salesman, unheard of...

I already know what I want to buy before I go out to check out an actual product or service (car, washer, etc.) It doesn't mean I haven't checked out the competing products where salespeople work on commission and high pressure tactics just to be sure the product picked is the right one.

Salespeople could save a lot of effort attempting to push a sale if only they'd stick to answering the questions, demonstrating the product and not attempt to make up my mind for me. I have one speed in one direction when someone is pushy, and that is quickly out the door and won't be back.

The car salesman that sold us our last car was a friend of my sons. We already knew what we wanted and how much we would pay for it (not retail, the Internet has lots and lots of information.) He did sell us one additional option. He told us why we needed it, and we weren't sorry we bought it. At the other place, a Ford dealership, the salesman gave me the creeps. Last year we found he was arrested and sent to jail!

When my oldest son was a lot younger and going to college, he used to take me with him when he needed to buy a vehicle. If the salesperson couldn't convince mom on the overall deal and price, we left. Those were some "interesting" discussions at dealerships.
