Here's the first episode of "At Last, The 1948 Show". It predated Python by 1 year and was largely written by John Cleese and Graham Chapman. The late Marty Feldman was also was a cast member. Recenetly a few new episodes were discovered and will be released to the public sometime this year I believe.

  • I remember watching that when it first aired, I'm that old. The lovely Amy Mcdonald was seen by my uncle when he was eating in the most expensive steak restaurant in Windsor. Fillet Steak for 22 shillings and sixpence (1967), You try telling that to the people on the forum, they would not believe you.

  • Marty Feldman was the most unusual looking guy on earth. I didn't know he was dead. That's sad. I really liked him. Anyway - always liked the Python crew. In fact, I like a lot of English humor pretty well.

      And before their was the 1948 show, their was "Do Not Adjust Your Set" You will recognize some Python people here mixed in with some other famous and soon to be famous British comedy people. (all except Denise Coffey who I never saw again) This goes back to 1966, and yes, I saw them all.

      Surprisingly, this aired in the children's hours TV slot. Way ahead of it's time. All episodes appear to be on You-Tube if you click on the vid.

      This episode has the one hit wonder, The Bonzo Dog Doo Daa Band doing the Intro song. Vivian Stanshaw, the blond lead speaker also introduced the instruments on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.
