  • I hope she can find peace, joy in life, play with other people again and she overcomes her fear of people.
  • What a splendid looking little furball!

You are asking for our prayers? It would appear to me that her prayers were answered the day you found her. The universe smiles on those with hearts that heal the helpless.
You and Gabby have been mutually blessed. I can feel your joy at her recovery all the way over here!

    • Thanks, livawell and Sal! And wow, we would love to keep her but already have 2 dogs and a kitty, but still may anyway. We need one of those Dalmation plantations - -and hubby and I do talk about that
  • God bless Gabbie. Her scars will get less as time goes on. Amazing what love and food can heal. I wish I could give her a big hug and maybe get a kiss.

I rescued the biggest lab puppy I have ever seen from the middle of the street (playing chicken with cars). When I took him to the Shelter they said people almost always claim Labs, more than any other breed. (and they did the next day)

So if you are forced to give her up, there is a good chance someone will adopt her. Like you, if I ran a foster home, I would want to keep all of them, and letting each one go would be a major bummer...

I love watching Animal Planet and the various rescues - the part where they get better, and most of all when they arrest the abuser. Too bad we live in a so-called "civilized society" because it would be more fun to inflict on them whatever they did to the dog.

Keep up the good work, Diana.

  • My prayers are with her as well. I also have a dog which I love so much so I can relate
  • Diana - first of all, you rock and there's a special place in Heaven for you (or whatever positive afterlife you prefer ).

I worked in our county shelter and served on the board and volunteered. They are my donation recipient of choice. I have to tell you it takes a strong person to be able to see the less than savory side of humanity and still be able to open your heart to an animal in need.

I'll say it again, you rock!

I'll definitely say a little prayer for Gabbie, too. If she can't stay with you, may she find a loving a devoted home with someone who understands the value of loving and caring properly for their animals.

  • I also would like to extend my prayers to Gabbie.. I pray for her fast recovery and I'm sure God will give her a good, loving owner and something she can call home.. The previous male owner would soon realize his mistake..
  • Update here: Gabbie is much better, thanks for all the prayers! She's been given a clean bill of health and can now run and play with other dogs. Plus the best news:

...we've adopted her Couldn't let her go, we all fell in love with her, and she's part of our fam now.

Again thanks for all those prayers, Warriors
  • Yippee! I'm so glad she's made such wonderful progress and I'm glad she's found a forever home with you, too! Great news all the way around.
