What do you think of my new reality TV show idea?...

The show follows the trials and tribulations of Tim, a poor slob internet marketer,
and his never ending search for a WP theme that is truly responsive.

Each week we seem him succumb to the promises of yet another WP theme
that CLAIMS to be 100% responsive. Through time-lapse video,
we can see him spends COUNTLESS HOURS trying to make his latest purchase
do what it says on the sales page.

Each week our hero is yet again disappointed, and the (futile?) quest continues.

Critics will argue over whether the show is a pathetic tragedy, or a quirky, ironic comedy.

Each episode ends with Tim punching his fist through another wall,
along with a lower-third graphic of his dwindling bank account balance.

Working title: "SUICIDE RISK."

PS: Don't miss next week's episode, called, "ProStyler!" Filming begins tomorrow.

ps . . . you're not related to Walking Carpet by any chance, are you?

    Added later . .

    Congrats. Results just in.

You are the lucky winner of the most boring person ever to visit the OTF competition. You have won a semi responsive WP theme.

Of the many epithets we could use to describe you, boring is not one of them.

Sounds like it would bore me to tears, and actually, I don't think we care enough about your trials and tribulations to worry about two posts on the topic, much less a reality TV show. Maybe you should get a life.

Sorry - but this is one of those shows I'd turn off after the first 10 minutes and never turn on again...so...I'll miss the plot of the soap opera.

Well, I will echo a phrase that is AGE OLD! It is appropriate here and one that has been used in many ways.

    CONTENT IS KING!

If you have a great theme, and just soso content, you will find few will stay with you. If you have a horrible theme, and fantastic content, some may scream and complain, and even physically HURT, and keep coming back for more. A good theme is nice, and leads one to believe you put more effort and money into it, and that you are bigger, but otherwise means NOTHING! HECK! YESTERDAY I bought a product that has been for over 100 years AND, looking at there 1898 ad poster, you know what? TODAY'S package is LAUGHINGLY more primitive! MOST companies today did that in REVERSE! HECK, what I think might be their oldest popular competitor was introduced in 1949! So WHY did I buy it? I wanted purity, and their only real claim today is that it is over 99% pure. SIMPLE!

That may be, but these days having a site NOT look *all screwed up* on a
smart phone, isn't considered fancy or "slick," it's considered r-e-q-u-i-r-e-d-!

Tell that to the sometimes gigantic "web 2.0 capable" behemoths I see putting garbage in cell phones. For phones, a low end java app is BEST! It should work with all the phones in the family at least. There are like 3 such families. The second is on a client ID feedback. HTML might not be the best method. But getting a template to work well on both phones AND web, in theory can't be done. Phones may be far smaller and their size and aspect ratios change all over the place. And you don't want the general web to suffer. Maybe you are expecting too much.

Well if that's all true (and I have no reason to doubt it), then it's also true that when we hear ANY theme telling us it is "responsive," we should mentally substitute the words, "the earth is flat," or, "OJ didn't do it."

In other words, a theme that claims to be "100% responsive" is uttering a total FALSEHOOD.

From my experience at chasing after MANY "100% responsive" themes,
there are just as many of them as there are UNICORNS.

Does it make any difference how expensive they are, or should I just quit my search before I go bankrupt?

I have my eye on Elegant Themes, or Thrive themes.

Are theeir claims of being 100% responsive ALSO a load of hogwash?

          Please advise.

The themes I trust above most others is Studiopress and have done for years. Their themes are great and as responsive as is possible for the styles they offer.
