  • I love that comment - who can argue with her?

  • Oh No!

Reading that brought back a memory I had years ago. An embarrassing one, now, lol!

Way back in the 9th grade, one of my basketball teammates told me a joke. She asked me why Dr. Pepper always comes in a bottle. I shrugged my shoulders and she said because his wife died.

She cracked up and I just laughed along as that made no sense to me at all!

Years later while I was in Texas, I heard that word in a sentence that made it quite clear what that word meant. Instantly that joke came back to me and I thought, Ooooh! That's what she meant.

    Oh, crap!

    • Terra,
My view of you as a clean, innocent, and woman of high integrity has forever been tarnished

      And I love it

  • Terra,

That may be the world's record for how long it took to get a punch line. You may want to contact Guinness about that one.

    • Terra - I can so relate!

In junior high school I checked a physiology book out of the library. I was sneaking a read of a racy novel I found on my stepfather's closet shelf...and wanted to see what some of the words referred to.

  • People believe on somethings different from each other. To me, the key secret is the quality of life. If you have to live in the case you are not happy with your life then double of life time doesn't work anyway.
  • I always knew I loved Dr. Pepper for a reason!

    haha
  • Dr. Pepper . . . I'm a little disappointed the secret wasn't Dr. Miller.

    • Yes, l have a small glass of coke almost every day, and my Mother and brother carry on like it is poison or a one way trip to Diabetes.

So l did some research and found that a half glass has 1 to 3 teaspoons of sugar, (probably 1-2 teaspoons).

So if l had a coffee, with 2 teaspoons of sugar, l wouldn't get all of this crap.

Doctors tend to scare you to death first, and then give a prescription later!

And l do drink filtered water the rest of the day.

They may also overdo health related info, on diet?

I mean three servings of fruit a day is pushing it. I have 2 a day, and know that if l tried to have three it wouldn't work, and probably p*** me off so much, l might ditch it all and go back to conventional breakfast food!

And having to do 20 minutes of heavy exercise a day? That also seems like overkill.

I suspect that any exercise is good. If l tried to do 20 minutes of running around the block a day, same thing get so sick of it, l wouldn't bother.

Do Paleties a few times a week, no, problem!

Maybe l a running up a blind alley, but it seems that doctors over-prescribe diet and exercise routines, as well as recommend iffy info, on Sunlight, tap water and other things!

But that doesn't matter when the population start to get ill later on in life, we always have their sell your house drugs and operations to fall back on!

    • I'm sure the other secret is craft beer.

  • I wish there's more to life than this... All I need is a day's off and watch the stars all night. That's what I'm missing so much.

    • So, you must be located in the Ice Kingdom in the land of Ooo and it's too cold to stay out all night??

How about just using your will power and force yourself to take a small vacation, leaving work behind, and head on over to the Grass Lands and star gaze all night? You'll thank yourself for it later.

  • I wish I could, but I'm moderating the Forum. I love my work... but how can I find someone who will love me if I don't get out much.

    • All the more reason to take a little vacation!

Maybe you could ask another mod to cover your shift for you?

At 104 years old, Elizabeth Sullivan says she doesn’t need the advice of real doctors. So she keeps another doctor close by. “People try to give me coffee for breakfast. Well, I’d rather have a Dr. Pepper.” Sullivan fell in love with the soft drink’s trademark “23 flavors” when she was in her 60’s. “I started drinking them about 40 years ago. Three a day. Every doctor that sees me says they’ll kill you, but they die and I don’t. So there must be a mistake somewhere.” Natural medicine at work??
