I'm looking for a trustworthy electrical engineer type for an invention I came up with.

It's nothing major. It's a magic trick, and I need someone who can show me how to make the electrical part. It's minor, really. Just involves a string of tiny lights. Similar to Christmas tree lights.

Anyone know of anyone.

Reason they must be trustworthy: I need the invention to be kept secret (duh!)

You can always sniff about online, you might find what you are looking for?

But if you need someone to mess around with mains power, then it is best to find a professional you can trust!

I have been doing some research alone reasonably similar lines recently!

You might also try electronic stores, online or off, they might sell kits, that you can build yourself?

    Or off the shelf parts?

    Good luck!

No. No chance of electrocution in this case! Just working with small batteries, etc. I need someone who messes around with simple electronics -- not an electrician!!

Yes, in all honesty if you can't find it online, then find an electrical shop near where you live and explain what you want.

I did that once, and he got all the parts l needed, (or the next best thing).

I did have a schematic, and a list, but a list of the parts and a basic diagram is all you really need.

If it is simple then directly wiring them together, and soldering, (although twisting the wires together or using alligator clips might work) is enough.

But as said before you might be able to find some off the shelf product on Ebay, that does the same thing?

Since this is the off topic forum -- I can add this -- my 11 yr old daughter is totally into Australia. She wants to visit Melbourne. She is really into some youtubers who are from Aussie in Melbourne. They are "celebrity" youtubers who specialize in videos about minecraft.

She hears (from them) all about aussie culture, etc. So she really want to visit there! Especially Melbourne.

      Hmmm, Smart Daughter!

And tell your daughter that Wombats can put a lorry on its side, (no seriously, if a lorry drives over one of those things it can topple a 2 to 3 ton truck).

I have to admit that l havent played that one, but wouldn't mind thrashing some minecraft chickens, l have heard that they go nuts, and get vicious??

I have played most of the Zelda games and always enjoy whacking some chickens and watch them go nuts and gang up on me!

We were both surprised to see McDonald's isn't called McDonald's over there!

We also learned that Sydney is not the Capital.

These are things that most Americans would get wrong.

Mc Donalds, no we call it that here, although some teenagers call it Maccers, l tend to call it something else!

But we do call, Burger King, Hungry Jacks!

And some of your franchises, we haven't heard of!

Sydney is the capital, lol, no we would like it to be, it has the best firewoks!

And our citys aren't' overrun with Kangeroo's, although on rare occasions one gets into Melbourne Airport by mistake.

The Chinese tourists love that one!

I tell you a good place to maybe look, local colleges or schools (Dunno what they are like in the USA) but they may have a student there who could be of help. Just go talk to one of the local professors and see if you could get their class to do the trick

Perhaps look for a local legitimate inventor's group

    Inventors' Alliance - Item body
