    • I hope I didn't contribute to their absence.

      Terra! Sal!

      Please come back.
    • Last time I heard Sal's computer crashed. That was probably 10 days ago

    • Sal's hard drive died - see this thread : http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...eeds-help.html
Terra was last seen before Easter, I believe - hopefully they are both okay - I miss them too
    • Was that the movie where...no wait...that was The Hills Have Thighs.
    • I pretty much know Hey Sal's story, needs a new puter. Probably wrestling with the fact that her dead hard drive is going to cost hundreds to yield it's data if it can be accessed at all. None of those cheap alternatives work, yep, been through this experience with a friend of mine. She spent 300 bucks in the end and only got 80 percent back. thing is, she never used it.

So, a new computer and a small learning curve and I hope you wrote those passwords down and had the important stuff backed up!

I recently had it the other way round. Computer died and it took great effort and much bending of metal to get the hard drive out (Because HP, in their infinite wisdom had decided to bury it at the bottom of the machine, pretty inaccessible) Anyway, recently put it in my new one, a Dell and it all works. Main thing is a couple of programs I wish to get and somehow, transfer all my email folders from Windows Mail on the old one into Outlook 2007. There is no browse feature in Outlook 2007 when you want to Import emails, folders etc. Grrrrrrr

  • damn frank, I thought i was the only nutter who did all that.
the only diff is i use backblaze and my thumb drives are generic.

I live and die by my code. It only took one major loss for
    me to see the light.

And (sorry, copywriters), on top of everything else you have the ultimate satisfaction of being able to say, "Damn, I'm as smart as Big Frank." lol

Yes, one data loss incident is generally enough for anyone with an IQ over room temperature.

      Cheers. - Frank

  • I saw the comments when I got back in here that she was gone and called her. Got her answering machine. Left word for her to call me back. Last time I talked to her she was reading suggestions about what happened to my computer and she was walking me through some tests that someone posted links to in her thread about me needing help. She was okay then. If I find out she's not - I'll let people know, but she's probably recovering from Easter family stuff.

BTW - nice avatar change. You look friendly.

  • Just talked to Terra. She's fine - will be back online probably Monday. She had multiple things going on, such as an allergy reaction to testing a doctor was doing, a nephew that cracked his head open and was in the hospital (okay now), and of course, Easter with a family full of rugrats.

so that's the gossip. Is everyone okay now?

  • Terracide is the best game that lays out in six degrees of freedom style, in a alike way in which the player is typically cruising about levels until they locate an enemy to attack, although player is given on screen objectives which are required to be finished to keep on.
