About time you showed up! Glad situation is under control. What did you do with Terra - she's been MIA, too.

I forgt - what did you miss???

Let's see - about 3 dozen threads of "how to make $1, $100, $500, $10-20, $400k, one million" fast easy". Other than that, not much.

...also....this thread - which someone (guess) was able to get locked after a while...though pretty amazing it lasted as long as it did which indicates tolerance...

LMAO! I'm sorry I missed that one. I could have got it shut down much faster. I miss all the fun. Not sure what happened to Terra. Just read here that she disappeared so called and got an answering machine. Told her to either call back or get online. Last I talked to her was the day my hard drive crashed and I asked her to come in and flag someone to help decide what was wrong. She's got a new doctor and was going for testing. One of us will hear from her soon, I suppose. It was Easter weekend and she does heavy duty family on holidays.

Welcome back, was getting a bit fed up with only having WC's and Claudes avatars to look at.

A lot of new towers have built in wifi these days, Wondering what you got. How did you get round the Wifi bit, bought a usb wifi stick? Also wondering why you did not get a new mouse and keyboard for that matter, with the tower. They usually come with it?

So how are you getting along with windows 8.1 or 7? Bet it's 7.

Ian....who we all know isn't Ian now.........Windows 7. It's taking some getting used to, but not bad. I have a USB stick for WiFi. It was something even I could master rigging up. Nuff said on that one, huh?

Gee - I never thought of WC, Claude, Riffle, and the others being loose in here without Terra and I at the same time. Must have been a real scary sick sausage fest for sure.

Somebody spilled the beans, actually Discrat thought I was ian. When I joined, I put my assumed name in with a lower case l ( thats an L in lower case ) which looks like exactly like a capital I (capital i) using the forums font.

Anyway, I realized sometime back that your first name was not "Hey"

Still wondering about what you bought and why no mouse? (But will drop it if your too fed up with it all to discuss further)

No mouse because I just bought a tower - I just had a spendy jeep repair and wanted to get this done as cheap as possible. I don't know what it is. It works on Microsoft 7 and it's Intel something. I'll probably need to add more ram later, but that's okay with me for now. I don't use this thing for all that much.

Sounds like you bought a bare bones vanilla unit from a specialist store. Intel is of course a processor manufacturer name, not a computer make. Still, as long as the parts are of reasonable quality it should last you and you should still see a significant increase in speed of operation and reliability of the newer Windows as compared with a machine of the vintage that would run XP.

XP could only recognize, see and utilize so much ram (memory), Sevens much better at that

Yes, putting more ram in will significantly increase it's speed and smooth running. Cheapest place for memory I have found online is crucial.com. If your machine is a recognizable make and model number you can select the make from the dropdown and select the model number, it will tell you what you need. Otherwise, ask your tec savvy guy.

I and others have W7, so come here if you get stuck, (or YT)?

The mouse, hmmm, on W7 the mouse tends to have kittens occasionally with the USB port, l would shut your computer down and swap the ports, it might have issues with one of the rear ones, and be fine with the front ones?

And l have intentionally held back on one very interesting post l have wanted to put up, but decided to hold back.

Well, that and find good supportive evidence, so certain individuals would have a hard time dismissing it!
