This runner thinks he has the race in the bag and starts showboating to the crowd and loses, haha!

So what should the moral of the story be?

Speaking of puppies (sorry for using you as a segue, Sue)...

Terra, didn't I read someone on here that you're getting a teacup poodle? I can't find it - so perhaps my wife has finally driven me crazy.

        LOL Dennis.

Sorry, but I never even considered a teacup poodle. I think someone, maybe Biz, recommended it when we weren't certain if I was allergic.

Or it may have been when someone, sorry I don't remember his name, (Tim something?) only that he was from across the pond , showed a picture of a tiny white puppy.

You probably just mixed up the two discussions.

And you think you have been waiting long enough?

Believe me, if it were up to me and me alone, I would have had a puppy a long time ago! But I do have hubby to contend with and we compromise and come to agreements.

I know it may sound ridiculous to you, but the street runs two ways. If we were allowed to just get whatever we wanted whenever we wanted, the whole four acres would be full of race cars, motorcycles, go carts and tons of work in progresses to see how fast something can go on things that weren't designed to go fast at all. Not to mention all of the tools needed for these projects.

It's frustrating at best, but it's a system that works for me. If this system weren't in place I highly doubt our marriage would have lasted this long. Compromise works wonders in marriages.

And just so you know, my birthday is May 10th and I do believe my puppy is going to be my birthday present.

I showed that picture to my dogs and, while they weren't sure what it was, they both agreed that it looks delicious.

I've almost always had big dogs - the smallest, Doodah, was about 35 lbs but his personality was "big dog".

I'm volunteering at an adoption shelter (a no kill shelter) where I go a few hours a week to walk and play with the dogs. Yesterday I walked a small little girl and what a sweetheart. I guess she's the kind of pooch that makes people love little dogs.

Couldn't help but think what a great way that would be to find a new pooch if I was ready to adopt. I walked 3 dogs yesterday and the first two would have caught my eye if I were looking for a dog. The third one, though not as flashy, had the personality, ability to learn quickly and a desire to please people that will made her an outstanding pet for some lucky person. Had I not spent a bit of time walking her - I wouldn't not have known that.
