    this gonna be stupid. Why?

    1. Last Superman movie was utter Trash.
    2. The Nolan Batman Trilogy with Bale was a masterpiece. Batman without Nolan and Bale gonna be hard to swallow.
    3. Ben Affleck as Batman?? Gimme a break. Its as if Joe was Peter Parker.
    4. Why would Batman fight Superman??
    5. Yawn.

        Did you read The Dark Knight Returns? Like that.

        One of the keys is a weakened Superman. No idea how they will do this in the film.

        But I trust that it will make sense.....if a story of an alien that looks exactly like us...and can fly...makes sense.

        Did you see Man Of Steel? This Superman isn't quite the same godlike being as in the comics. These Kryptonians can be knocked out by a small missile fired from a jet. Anyway, I anticipate a great movie experience.

          Unfortunately, Captain SassyPants (my wife) wants to watch a movie rather than watch me write a dissertation on why Marvel and DC fans dislike the other side, so I'll put it this way: it's the same reason Coke/Pepsi, Apple/Microsoft, Apple/Android fans hate each other. You pick a side and toss shade (I'm hip with the lingo!) at the other side*.

          Growing up, I found Marvel characters more relatable and DC characters generic. I've always found Superman unbelievable boring. Ultimately, he flawless. That doesn't make for very interesting stories. Meanwhile, Peter Parker is worrying about picking up Aunt May's arthritis prescription and how he's going to get MJ's bra off while he's battling Doc Ock. Marvel comes at you with Pathos and hits you square in the face. DC tells a story with a certain kind of distance that I always found off-putting. This, of course, is based on my readership from 25-30 years ago.


          *This is not the reason many fans hate the Yankees. People hate the Yankees because they are evil incarnate. I added this comment specifically because it will mean absolutely nothing to you.


          Added later: Mike touched on part of Supe's limitation as a character as I was writing and getting stared down by the ol' lady.

        Pretty much or as Claude just suggested by making the character less than he is supposed to be (which is just another form of convolution). To me thats always been the problem with Superman on the big screen. It takes a lot out of a story line and the investment you make in the lead character when he is billed as a superhero with all major powers and just one weakness.

          Stopping for a nice cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich periodically could be dangerous for the man of British steel. But, when Batman stops for coffee and dougnuts....

      When I was a kid, I thought Aquaman was silly. But the last several animated Justice League movies have him far more interesting....and powerful. Not quite on par with Superman, but powerful....and regal.
