Miracle Mike, AKA Mike the Headless Chicken was a chicken in Fruita Colorado that had his head cut off in 1945 and lived for 18 months after.

As unbelievable as it sounds, it's fairly well documented. Supposedly, food and water was "poured" into Mike's neck.

So the next time you hear the phrase "like a chicken with its head cut off", think of Mike.
