Amazon Selling Used Items as New

Is Amazon ripping off customers by selling Used Items as "New" ? I ordered a gaming mouse that was listed as New but when I received the mouse it was used and beat up. The scary part is that it was shipped directly from Amazon LLC. Has anyone experienced the same thing?

I doubt it. Amazon may've fulfilled it, but likely the seller is to blame... I don't think a company as big and as profitable as Amazon would risk blatantly ripping off their customers.

Right. Tell that to GM. That is if you feel putting someone's life in danger after buying a new car, is 'ripping them off.'

I'm talking about blatant OBVIOUS rip-offs... of course corporations will screw you anytime they can get away with it.

Yes. Amazon fulfils for me as well. I send them product, and they ship it. So, the seller is probably the one that reboxed a used product, and shipped it to Amazon.

It's also possible that the item was returned for a refund, and wasn't inspected before it went back in stock.

I bought one of your Kindle books and there were bits of fried egg, bacon and tomato ketchup fingerprints all over the pages. I ended up buying a frying pan from Amazon via your affiliate ads.

        Clever.

I have to say that so far, so good with Amazon for me. I've not encountered any problems. Not that I buy a whole lot, but so far, everything has been good, even when it has been shipped via vendor and not fulfilled by Amazon.

I don't think I would blame the problem on Amazon. I can't imagine they open all the items and check them before shipping them out. I'm sure that if there is a vendor at fault by design, their ability to list and sell on or fulfilled by Amazon will vanish quickly.

One company, OVER 15 years ago, was found to be selling computers with USED parts as new! THEY LOST the case!!!!!!!!!! You are NOT allowed to sell used products as new, even if the customer claims they did NOTHING but open the box!

THAT is why stores like Tiger, and Frys, that DO sell used products that may have merely been opened, as USED, with a discount! I mean why don't THEY sell as new? Some of the used stuff(less than like 14 days in anothers hands, and often FAR LESS) is sold right next to NEW merchandise!

HECK, when I was in California, FRYS was my amazon! NEVER buy electronic goods they buy in bulk(Because they have NO knowledge of ESD and don't care), and NEVER buy products that have a LOT of the USED variant, and you will do fine!

Amazon IS good with returns! You can return it. BTW Amazon's site, last I knew, had a massive design flaw, as far as I am concerned, so DOUBLE CHECK what you order, and what it says you order, because, LIK, it ENCOURAGES getting the used item. You may have simply ordered it by accident. STILL, amazon should accommodate you.
