Facebook has agreed to let third party advertisers use your posted pictures without your permission. Click on "Settings" up at the top where you see the "Logout" link. Select "Privacy".Then select "News Feed and Wall". Next, select the tab that reads "Facebook Ads". In the drop down box, select "No One". Then save your changes. Do it now. Help your friends...copy and paste this into your status!

Enjoy the journey.

This won't do anything. If Facebook wants your photos, they will take them. This is why I have whacked a great most of my pictures off my Facebook.

There is a probability that they are all in their files already. There was nothing personal. They were just travel pictures but still...

I never post anything personal on Facebook. Also I have registered on a network that is not in the country I am living in.

I don't want them to have personal info on me just because I don't know who runs Facebook. I am not paranoid but have to be careful these days.

This could all be made on purpose to collect people's information world wide. At times I think I am going to leave Facebook altogether and delete my account.

Trust not these people as don't know who they are and what their intentions are.

Yeah, but have you heard of "Royalty Fees"???

Angelina Jolie got paid $4 million to have a picture of her baby spread across some magazine.

How would you like to miss out on that money?

Ok, bit of a far extreme example, but at the end of the day, if you know someone is going to make money off your mug, or your pics, why shouldn't you get paid for it, why would you let others make money off your photos?

Facebook make enough money as it is.

If they want to use your likeness to make money, they should compensate you for it but they won't. That's why I don't tell Facecrooks anything.

There is actually some sort of law that if a picture of a recognizable person is used for advertising etc by a third party, they must have a Model Release Document that is signed by the person in the picture.
I know this is the case with these stock photo sites that sell images.
Pictures from the Public Domain, I am not sure about.

Facebook probably has that covered in their TOS

I marked all my photos private - not because of this - but because of the creepy Photo Stalker application that allowed people to see your photo albums - even if they weren't on your friends list.

crazy, but does not surprise me with some of these larger companies. I would suggest not posting anything you don't mind them using.
