He is one of the funniest people on the planet. Enjoy. If you are 7 years old, or a prude, you won't enjoy this. Just a warning.

If that's the 'pedophile' bit - he had me squirming.

I've watched it a few times. He takes you to the edge of "He's gone too far", and then pulls you back again. Yeah, it's the pedophile bit.

What the hell are you guys talking about? He is funny but this guy is a weirdo and major dirtbag! The insurmatable evidence of his sexual harassrment escapades is overwhelming and nearly indisputable.

He is notorious for forcing women beyond their will to watch him bring out his willy and relief himself anywhere and everywhere.

Like i said this has been corrabarated numerous times by independent parties. I thought his skit on SNL talking like a black women at a retail store clerk was brilliant. But he is too much of a creep to have much respect for

I'll confess to not reading any Hollywood gossip info, but I do read the headlines in most sections of Huff-Post, most days. I can't say that I have ever heard a bad word written about him. I would think that kind of charge would be well-known.

Can you provide a link to any of the so-called corroboration? I'd be interested in learning more about this, if it's true.

          Cheers. - Frank

I'm neither 7 years old, nor a prude, and I didn't enjoy that. Not even remotely funny.

Better than Jerry Seinfeld's stand up routines, but that's not saying much.

You know i didn't want to rain on anyone's parade but i thought the exact same thing about his opening. Just genuinely wasn't funny. But a couple of skits he did like the one i mentioned
      were really good

P.S You and I must be on same wavelength as Jerry doesn't do it for me either

Maybe we all have different sensibilities. Was it that the jokes offended you?

For some reason, I don't think Seinfeld is hilarious at stand up either.

But Louis CK just makes me double over in pain from laughing. I'm cringing and laughing...and feeling guilty for laughing...all at the same time.

OK, you are not a prude. Are you a mime? It would explain a lot.

My problem is that I have entirely way too much empathy for any card-carrying narcissist. While I'm listening to him I'm thinking that there are probably people also listening that have suffered at the hands of a pedophile or that there are parents watching the show that have children that have been victimized. That just strips away any semblance of humor for me.

        Cheers. - Frank

I get that completely. And I assumed that this is the reason most people wouldn't like the jokes. My sensibilities are different. To me, I feel the cringe (although much less than most, I would think)...and that very discomfort makes the laugh more forceful. It may be a case of "Laughter as defense".
Was it offensive? Absolutely. But as much as I want to hate the joke...it really is a brilliantly conceived joke. Like his earlier (in the opening), "I'm a little prejudiced"

He must have told that joke many times on stage, and got a great laugh. Remember, he's well known enough that the audience knows what to expect. But on SNL? I wonder if it will get him banned. I hope not. He's really one of the best comedians I know.

Not in the least. I think he "pulled his punches" on that particular gag, probably because it was on network television. If it had been on a cable show, or even a live show at a theatre he may have let loose and it'd have been funnier. Who knows?

Then again humour is a very subjective thing. What makes me ROFLMAO may leave you wondering WTF, and of course, vice versa.

I notice that there are a few of his live shows on YouTube. I'll check them out to see if they're any better.

I should also add that I think the best way of dealing with taboo subjects is to make fun of them. That's why South Park works for me. They take these subjects and reduce them to uttter ridiculousness and the topics become funny

          So true.

I literally almost had a heat attack watching Bad Grandpa.I started breathing rapidly and out of control I was laughing so hard !!

I just do not see how anyone could not think this kind of hidden camera humor was funny. But my wife and her parents did not think it was funny. It just didn't hit them

Its weird how some things can resonate with some while others it does not do anything to.

OK. I've now seen a couple of his live shows on Netflix, and I was right. He DID pull his punches on that gag to allow it to be broadcast.

One gag he did in the show "Chewed Up" is still making me laugh whenever I think about it. If you've seen the show, it's the one about 9/11. Now that's a difficult subject to extract humour from, but he manages to do it. In fact he combines it with another taboo subject matter that made me laugh out loud. If you've seen the show you'll know what I mean. If you haven't, I'm not going to spoil it for you.

So, I concur. He is definitely one of the funniest men on the planet, but only when he's uncensored.

I watched a short clip of Louis CK from 1991. He hadn't found his voice yet. And I thought he was stilted, and ordinary. Paul Provenza was much funnier. Lois CK sure has come a long way since then.

I though that George Carlin took a long time to hit his stride as well. I've watched all his HBO specials, but it was only his latter ones that made me laugh, with his last one being the best of all. His early ones including his famous "words you cn't say on TV" were clever, witty even, but never funny. From about 1990 onwards they started inducing belly laughs in me.

Bill Hicks is another one whose appeal escapes me. He too was clever and witty, but never funny. As i mentioned above, Jerry Seinfeld, despite being the co-writer of one of the funniest TV shows ever made, is utterly boring as a stand up.

To each, their own I guess.
