You forgot cute, you did say I was cute once, but that thread got deleted. Remember? It was the one where you said that Riffle stuttered whenever he talked about me, lol!

Whoa, Terra, she is just so adorable--and the best part is she does look like she is feeling well.

P.S. Are you weighing her every week now? That will really help give you an idea how she is growing. My son used to often be astonished seeing ours and just saying, you know that she looks bigger than yesterday!

I've never believed in tying a dog outside, so our naughty pup spent a good bit more crate time than, perhaps, most others :-) She would behave perfectly when I put her on my lap and hand fed her treats like little apple slices or some cheese, then it was back to mayhem. She's a wonderful pup now, but what a little son of a gun when she was young.

I don't care how big she gets, she'll always be my lovable little baby, haha!

I think she looks more Beagley too, however, sometimes she looks Doxie. Her body is longer than a beagle's and when you look down at her face from behind, forehead to snout, she looks totally Doxie then. But front on, Beagle all the way!

Either way, as you say, she's adorable!

My dogs the same. Walker is a coon hound. He'd be gone after the first squirrel enticed him away and Buddy usually stays in the yard, but can't be trusted to do that. Our neighbor shoots dogs on his property so it's not worth the risk. They are always on leash.

Oh, April, yeah I knew you weren't saying that at all. Just as you conversated, I did too.

I'm not sure whether it will always be that way as Lexi certainly has the Beagle nose. She's venturing closer and closer to the woods in the back of the property when she picks up a scent. Once that happens, it's getting more difficult to get her attention back.

I thought it would be better after last week. She got spooked and was a little scared to wander too far after that. But that has passed. She caught the scent of something and had her nose to the ground. I was right with her all the way, but then all of a sudden she kicked up a small deer that had bedded down behind the pole barn. It scared the crap out of her and startled me too.

After that, whenever she caught scent of a deer or heard twigs cracking in the woods, she'd start whining and come running to either Bill or me. But like I said, that's past. Her curiosity just gets the best of her.

She's getting better with her leash training, so we're almost there. Of course she loves to go fetch the Frisbee and bring it back, so I just have to watch her closely for now. I can tell when she scents something and can get to her before she starts hunting down the source.

I guess only time will tell whether she'll need to be on the leash most of the time.
