Does this mean I can stop paying my bills?

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

No but you should cut back on beer and drink more spirits.

The hell you say. If we're all going to die anyway, it's cocaine and strippers or bust.

Are there no more rain clouds?

Unfortunately, instead of worry about this real, life-changing occurrence, people are worried about the collapse of the American economy. I wonder which problem will effect our lives, first. We don't need an economy or a country - if we're all dead.

          Cheers. - Frank

Exactly: "No Hydration, No Nation" (quote available to purchase)

It's quite funny to see the news documenting all the domestic woe's, wars, plans for the future of mankind etc, running alongside the news, like that of above, and the sea being depleted of oxygen because it's soaking up too much Co2 and numerous other things, things that are starting to take hold and will affect us big time.

YEAH, the sea won't "soak up too much CO2", and certainly won't be depleted of oxygen. ACTUALLY, it HAS to have gases simply because of how the planet is. What happens is that animals IN THE WATER, as well as vents and the like, put CO2 in the water that helps to throw off the balance, and various chemicals, plants, etc....reduce O2 put into the water. There are a lot of reasons for that, but few, if any, have to do with burning fossil fuels, etc... It also happens in cycles that, from what I understand, are getting more frequent. It has more to do with toxins and waste than anything else. As for water disappearing, you have to wonder. Left to its own devices, it will merely evaporate and rain elsewhere. of course the two areas could be HUNDREDS of miles apart. Where I live, we recently had a FLOOD. Was some of that california water? MAYBE!

SOME companies, like Coke, are bottling water, and using water elsewhere, and eventually that may become just DUMB. I mean there is only so much water. LUCKILY the earth is a water planet, and a lot of water is undrinkable, but eventually people may start to go to crazy lengths to get every drop. We still don't know all that may go wrong. But it would make the WORST of al gores scenarios seem like paradise, by comparison. HECK, HE was forecasting huge worldwide floods.

If we're running out of water, um..........maybe we should stop selling it to coporations, start farming correctly, and stop wasting it?

We're in drought here in Reno. It's rained 5 days in a row......enough to cause flash floods, and enough to dump inches in less than an hour. It's about to rain again before too long - the clouds are moving in. The river has risen and is moving mud (brown water) because of all the water we're getting, yet people still are using the word Drought. Over in Silver Springs the drought had water very low........coincidentally.......all the water at one water table level there has been sold to Union Pacific and is being drained out.

Corporate greed and the political idiocracy is what's going to tank our butts first.

Yep - Mom nature takes care of herself and she can be a total wench when she wants to.

Your points are right on target. It has always put me into RCA dog head tilt mode when I hear of someone talking about destroying the environment because it's "good for the economy". Dead land doesn't support an economy either. Duh.

Research how much water is being rendered useless by the addition of chemicals and then used for fracking - IN CALIFORNIA - where there is no water left. Then research how much water it takes to support one almond tree.

Not around here they're not. In the month of June, we had 24 days of rain out of 30 and flash flooded several times.

Maybe we could just tilt the earth towards the west and spill some of the water over from the east, lol!

If only it were that simple, sigh...

The underground reservoir of water in the Southern Mid West is the one that's really in trouble. There wasn't enough water in it to support a century of industrialized farming in the first place. An almost immediate turn to organic farming and ecosystem restoration is the only thing that is going to save that area. They only have around two decades left at max, and then it will completely desertificate out there. Restoring the ecosystems will create moisture and possibly allow those reservoirs to regenerate.
