Hello guys,

What are your methods for coping with stress?

I usually do mindfulness. After spending a period of time focusing on my breath, it's as if I am floating on a cloud.

It is the most amazing feeling in the world.

I'll do all kinds of things, actually. I enjoy being creative -- like playing music, singing. Stuff like that.

I always try to go somewhere for few hours. Stay there and talk with other peoples. I remain busy in other works. And in this way I pass my stress.

There is nothing quite as refreshing as taking a baseball bat to an old piece of furniture in a closed garage while the rest of the world continues on unaware.

Dan, it's okay - we all know and we understand.

By the way, a beanbag with Claude's picture tied to it? Not technically furniture.

I was going to say nearly the same thing, with a picture of Riffle on the furniture.

        Damn you Frank.

Stress? I used to work. Concentrating on your work pushes stress aside. And the money helps solve most things you're stressful about.

I wouldn't know. I don't get stressed. Seriously. I just don't feel it. Maybe I just do something that keeps it from hitting me. Maybe I just got tossed bad enough long enough that nothing seems to be a big enough deal to get hyped over.

Play my computer game and then get bored quickly since it is Zelda Twilight princess, and it gets boring riding around on a horse for hours on end!

Then take the p*** out of something particularly annoying on tv, (see the Masterchef one).

      Chocolate cake!

Driving past a park thinking that l should go and take a walk, but convincing myself that looking at the ducks, etc is enough!

And taking a short walk around the ghosttown, shopping centre, to find a good place for a coffee, and well you know!

I think there are better places that you could learn massage therapy, Frank.

        Oh...wait.....

I can imagine a $50 hooker, massaging me...and I almost die from a stroke. I wake up in the hospital, with my wife standing next to me, "So........anything you want to tell me?".

One of my wife's many super powers, is seeing through my BS. I actually find that incredibly endearing.

I don't feel a lot of stress but maybe I prevent it. About 3 days a week I take a couple hours and volunteer at the AAF

I walk 2-3 miles - have fun - meet interesting people and wonderful animals - and come home with a smile after a couple hours.

My wife and I just went to lunch, and I asked her how she deals with stress (because I had read this thread)

She said, "I haven't felt much stress for years. But when I did, I just suppressed it."

I asked, "Do you think it aggravated your health problems?"

She said, "I'm sure it did"

Then I asked (remember, it's all about me) how she thought I dealt with stress.

She said, "I don't think you feel stress"

And I said, "I think about things all the time"

And she said, "Yes, but that isn't stress. Stress is worrying about something, enough to bother you".

I asked, "Does it stress you that I don't get stressed?"

"You are so....so ....clever" (In her subtly sarcastic way.)

My wife is one of the funniest people I know.
We'll be in a restaurant, and she is sitting across from me.....she'll smile with a big beautiful grin...and it will slowly go away over a full 30 seconds. Sometimes I'll be talking to her, and she makes a face at me so subtle, nobody else would ever be able to tell the difference. It's her way of completely breaking my train of thought, and just get me laughing.

On our second date, we were in a booth, in a restaurant. She was blankly staring over my shoulder for over a minute...never blinking. I thought she may be having a seizure. I finally glanced behind me. She was in a staring contest with a 5 year old kid, in the booth next to us.

That was one of the trigger moments, that I knew she was the one for me.

Today, I showed a lady a vacuum cleaner, and she didn't buy. This evening, She asked me what I wanted for dinner. I told her that her chili (she made last night) was fine, and said, "Do we have any watermelon left?"

She said, "Watermelon is for closers". She said it in complete deadpan.

One of the most important factors of a non-stressful life is the air you breathe. Fresh air makes you forget about everything and relax very nicely, even at home if you use some air purifiers like me (I recently got one from freshairpurifiers.net). This is one of the most important thing in my life, honestly

But, isn't it stressful when you find all your belongings on the street?
