If I were Brady - I'd take it to court.

Of course, but it wouldn't have been upheld by Goodyear Tires.

They got it dead wrong. It should not be a 4 game suspension.

It should be a ONE game suspension, applied retroactively to the game in question.

      We are all entitled.

I'm curious to see what's going to happen with the court case(s). Will the courts jump in the middle of NFL business on this matter?

I doubt the courts will accept the case. Federal courts don't like taking cases that have already been through arbitration. Brady has a big burden of proof that he can overturn the arbitration.

Plus, Brady already said he destroyed the phone which would probably be an important piece of evidence.

IMO, Brady should admit to himself that he lost, let it go and just move on.

Here's a little fantasy football tip from your Uncle Dan:

Brady is going to drop a bit in the draft. Wait a little longer to draft a QB. Draft Brady and, later in the draft, pick up a serviceable QB with a soft first four games. (I haven't scanned the schedules yet.)

Twelve weeks of Angry Tom out to prove a point is going to be a sight to be seen and you'll want him on your team.

(That said, he's a dirty, dirty cheater.)

I'm not saying what he did was right or wrong, but I think it is way overblown.

Everyone seems to forget that the game was close at halftime. Then the deflated footballs were found and "regulation" balls were used the second half. The Patriots kicked the shit out of them in the second half without the deflated footballs. The Colts were better off letting the Patriots "cheat".

That's all beside the point. Rules be rules. Ignore them and you're a cheater. I think there's an appropriate level of blown here. Evenblown? Would that be the proper conjugation?

Look at it this way, my GM tried to text in plays during the game. We're talking about the Browns here, so you know it made no difference. The NFL suspended him. I think he should have been fired.

Not to mention...I'd bet the majority of the punishment handed down wasn't for cheating, it was for the cover up and Brady refusing to cooperate.

When most people get a new mobile phone, they throw it in a drawer or have the data erased. They don't "destroy" it.

This reminds me of Watergate. Nixon got in trouble for the cover up, not the crime...not to mention the missing 17 minutes (or whatever) of tape. Kind of like Brady's missing texts.

Yep. I consider destroying the phone a continuation of the initial cheating.

That's why I think a court will take the case. You have the "authorities" claiming on tape that "he destroyed his phone and would not give us access to his emails".

You have Brady's lawyer saying "not true - we gave email copies to investigators and the phone was not 'destroyed'".

The initial person who claimed "phone was destroyed by Brady" admitted he was going out on a limb and assuming that would be the case. It's been repeated as if it's gospel...

There is a truth there somewhere - and I think THAT's why a court will take the case. If the phone exists Brady can produce it - doesn't mean he'll hand it over to the league.

I have my doubts and I'm not a Brady or football fan. BUT I worked with my hands and some of the things stated don't make sense to me.

Next time you go to a casino watch the experienced roulette and blackjack dealers handle chips. They KNOW how big a "stack" is. I used to say "I don't know how my hand knows - but it does". It's muscle memory I guess.

Because my "hand" knew what 20 chips felt like...I'd know immediately if a stack of chips was "off". However, if ALL the stacks on the table were wrong - if they were all 19 instead of 20....it could get past any dealer for a while.

That's what bothers me about this whole scenario. I know any pro player would notice one ball that was uninflated....I'm not sure any would notice if all the balls were just slightly low. That bugs me on this story.

I also don't like this Commissioner as he seems to blow in the wind when it comes to decisions. I could be wrong about that (and wrong bout the whole incident) - but that's a non-football's fan view of this story.

When Brady is on the field, the other team doesn't touch the football. It wasn't until Brady was intercepted that the other team noticed the under-inflated ball.

Maybe even more importantly than passing is the effect on running backs gripping the ball. If one checks the stats, the number of times the Patriots fumbled is very, very low, so much so that it's an outlier compared to all the other teams. Under-inflated balls are much easier to grip.

What bothers me is, right or wrong Brady lost. He needs to move on.

Losing is one thing and maybe he should just give it up.

But having lies told is another - and IF he didn't destroy that phone and IF it's true he handed over reams of emails ....he needs to go to court to get the truth out there.

At this point it's almost two stories to me...the suspension is one thing - the claims about emails and phone, etc are being made against Brady as "proof of guilt".

If the phone can't be produced - that's on Brady. But if he did turn over emails through his lawyer - if the phone still exists....someone on the other side needs to be "outed" as a liar.

I seriously doubt the NFL would make up things in order to penalize Brady, who is one of the 2 or 3 most popular players in the NFL. Not to mention, Goodell andRobert Kraft were very good friends before this, with Kraft being the biggest supporter to get Goodell appointed commissioner. I see absolutely no motive for Goodell to frame Brady. None. Zero. Zip.

And if we bring up Goodell's past history, we should also bring up the Patriots' history of cheating as well.

The courts will decide. Playing the home version of Perry Mason won't change anything.

TL, I think the crux of the issue is you don't know where the person is when they're making the text. They could have access to video feeds or data that the other team does not have access to. They could be intercepting microphone transmissions on the opposing sideline and relaying the information to the coaching staff. You know, Belichickian-level cheating.

This is the only thing that saved Farmer's bacon. He wasn't providing an edge, he was just irritating his coaches, enough so that the OC threw a fit and quit his job.

I get it now and how about a GM betting against or on his team and ordering the coach(s) to change personal thinking it will affect the outcome of the game and of course the point spread?

There are probably a couple of other good reasons the league doesn't want that type of activity.
