Is it April Fools' Day?

Just read in the the sun that an Australian reality TV show sends a bunch of participants to war-torn Syria, ie IS front line.. Contestants were given a bulletproof vest for protection

From The Sun.....

"The show, called Go Back To Where You Came From, is known for its dangerous ventures.

And it tried to challenge prejudices about refugees and asylum seekers by sending them on journeys to 'some of the most inhospitable and dangerous places on Earth'.

The group included a former refugee, two sisters with opposing views, two Australian immigrant whistle-blowers, a tough-talking teacher and a Stop the Boats Campaigner.

Protected with nothing but a bulletproof vest, one group of contestants were asked to spend an entire night with Kurdish millitants.

The other group visited an unoffical camp housing approximately 140,000 ethnic minorities who fled their homes two years before.

Contestants were given only a bulletproof vest for protection.

Throughout the ordeal, the contestants had to run from gunfire, with some footage clearly displaying IS fighters in the background.

After the realisation of what they had let themselves in for, one contestant even stated "maybe we were in something really serious".

The reality TV show aims to give contestants the chance to witness first hand why illegal immigrants try to come into their country in the first place.

Some Australians have very harsh views on 'boat people' (illegal immigrants who come by boat to Australia), so the show is meant to educate them of the places refugees flee from.

The series, which is on its third season, has taken its contestants to countries including Malaysia, Kenya, Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia.

The episode will be aired Thursday 30 July, 8.30pm on SBS."

Yes, l would say that it is, l just listened to a contestant coming over to Australia on a refugee boat, and getting nabbed by our authorities from this show.

And she was legit, and old enough to have kids of her own, but obvious not that smart?

    Just another dumb reality show!

Best to go back to reruns of Taxi, and infinite reruns of Raymond!

Although we are about due for another onslaught of Harry Potter, already had the Mommy ones?

What p*** me off more is the constant fiddling with digital stations, so we have to constantly do yet another search to get them back.

And when we do the overloud, BS 24/7 ad stations come back to haunt us

Don't know whether it's for real or not but I don't see why it would change anybody's views of immigrants? I feel sorry for a lot of them, especially those whose lives have been destroyed thanks to psychopaths like Tony Blair and we're having trouble here at the moment with thousands of immigrants trying to get through the channel tunnel every night into England as well as in the back of lorries on the ferries, but as far as I'm concerned they can f*** right off.

Yes but it's more like a documentary series than a reality TV show. You can read more about it here: About the series | Programs
