That quote plays nicely into the "The rich are jerks, and the poor are good people" idea.

One guy says this, and now it's a meme for "Rich guys are jerks".

Some rich people are jerks. Just like any other group.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

I think it's noteworthy that residents of that enclave etc., actually increased their water usage after being asked to tone it down a bit.

You know the stereotype of the snooty shallow rich person that feels entitled? Like the ones we see in movies? Those people exist in real life.

When I watch a movie, and see buffoonish characters......stereotypes, the funniest part of it to me..is knowing that somewhere... there are people that are really like that.

Sort of like warnings on the side of wheelbarrow tires (Not for Highway Use). No doubt some moron took a wheelbarrow tire out on the interstate, bit the dust & the family sued the manufacture.

Trying to get an ampage of water allotment during a crisis is completely selfish. Not sure that has anything to do with wealth, but if it does, those people need to understand that you can't drink money.

The attitudes in that state just baffle me. They want to be "fair" and "humane" and welcome millions of illegals into their state when their own population is way over ecological carrying capacity (which is one of the main reasons for controlled immigration - to avoid stressing local carrying capacities). LA is an ecological disaster zone. If everyone down there doesn't pull together to bring it back to life, they're going to end up with a totaled out wasteland and all those millions will be packing up and moving and stressing out the balance of wherever mass amounts of them land.

It's been known for decades now that when you kill off an area, it sets up a chain reaction. Nobody on earth can afford what is going on down there now and to hear that someone thinks that money gives them privilege is completely disgusting. Maybe if they want more water they can set up ecosystem restoration that will justify it. If they just want to water their grass, they should be completely shut off until they get the clue that "shortage" when it comes to natural resources, is not a matter of "can afford more".
