Cheap Antivirus software?

Well my Webroot license will be expiring in 6 days...

I have used Webroot for 4 years now and when I went to renew it through PayPal today my payment was rejected by them for being fraudulent. The Payment was made through my business PayPal account, which is verified, with plenty of miles on it, well aged and is clean as a whistle. I got this same thing from SEOClerks about a week ago. Unsure what the problem is here.

What do you guys recommend? Money isn't really the issue so anything $50 or less for at least one year I can live with. Good protection is what matters most to me.

  • I've been using Kaspersky for a few years now and have been happy with it. It's $39.99 per year.

I'd also suggest contacting PayPal directly regarding the two payment rejections.

    • I managed to get in contact with the guys at SEOClerks. My PayPal credentials did not match those that were on my bank account information... Probably something to do with me moving a few weeks ago... Which is understandable for them, but it still baffles me why Webroot would do that to me when I need to pay by debit card through the PayPal checkout on their site and I have been a loyal member for 4 years... At the end of the day, they lose out, not me. No harm, no foul.

      Anyway, I digress,

Thank you! Reviews look good for it. Change is good. Going on a whim here and trying that out.

  • One comment about Kaspersky, if it's not too late. I like it, I use it, it seems to be effective. Try the trial version, but when it's time to upgrade, decline. They'll drop the price 25%. Decline again, and they'll drop it another 25%. This also seems to work with their longer-term licenses, too. I seem to recall you need to wait 2-3 days between each price reduction.
  • I only use free programs. I use Avira antivirus.
    I also use Superantispyware.com and Malwarebytes.com

So far, I have not had any problems.

  • Avast Antivirus is Cheap. It only charges if you want web Security.
  • Guys, what about BitDefender?
  • Isn't Avast free? I'm not sure though.
