MAN! I wonder what the 22nd century would be like!

I just watched one of those "kids react" videos. Some of the kids didn't even use basic logic as to why the device didn't start, how it should be hooked up, or how the tape should be inserted. YIKES! I mean there is generally one logical way to insert them.

And the person instructing them made it sound like the tapes were only good for maybe 5 times, and were low quality. The poor quality is a function of many things that had little to do with the general technology. GEE, the average computer only remembers things in memory for a couple milliseconds! I wonder how people in the future would react to THAT! Just don't tell them about the refresh circuitry reminding the computers. Or HEY, look at DISK DRIVES!

And one kid spoke of how VHS didn't support HD like blueray does. Even blueray didn't, since the HD now is relatively new, AND CHANGING.

And one person said VHD was more complicated than the latest stuff. By WHAT measure? With VHDs, you could often just insert a tape. With many things today, you have to use a GUI or some such to select, and click something and have so many options. And INTERNALLY? Computers are certainly more complicated.

Yet another asked WHY the VHS was created! MAN, could you imagine if the basic technology(mag tape) were not created? I mean it ALL wears down like the guy claimed. IMAGINE! Computers would STILL be a hobbyist deal at best. IMAGINE! NO magnetic tape, NO hard disks, NO floppies. CDs would certainly never have been created. MEMORY would not be as large as it is etc.... At least we don't have vinyl or tape, or wax, which we had before that.
