Quck Poll: Introductions

Six threads were posted today from people introducing themselves. (e.g., "Hi; I am new."... Really!?) Before I put in an official request in the Suggestion subforum to note that introductions rarely, if ever, add any actual value here, and request a change in the official WF rules, I wanted to run a quick poll here to find out your personal opinion about them.

(I can no longer find the actual poll mechanism here, which is rather odd, considering that I posted one just a few weeks ago, so I guess we'll just have to do this with regular posts.)

  • I never botjered introducing myself, i jumped straight in and joined in a thread. I figured that the best way of introducing myself was to contribute to the discussion.

In case you're wondering, this was the first thread I posted to:

    • Sorry for my ignorance, but what the hell does botjered mean?
As for the original post, that has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard here in a long time.
I don't read the introduction posts but I know they are common on all forums and always have been. In fact it's common in the off line world to introduce yourself when you join a group or meet someone new.
