There doesn't seem to be many NFL fans left here any more...but here it is, even if it's a bit late.

    Congrats on the win, Kurt.

I was getting a little nervous about your boy, Peyton, but he seems to be coming along. I was starting to wonder if Father Time had caught up to him.

As for my Browns, they continue to be the poster children for futility. This weekend they'll help solidify the growing legend of Mariota. I could see another four touchdown performance out of him.

IMO, our problem is our oline. They can't pass block or run block. They haven't played together much, so I hope they can improve. But the rest of the team is very good and I'm thrilled to have Wade Phillips back as defensive coordinator.

Manziel seemed to have played fairly well in the opener didn't he? I think you guys will be an OK team, but are in a tough division.

Other than the two fumbles and the interception, he looked like the second coming of Charlie Frye.

Right now I'm predicting 4-12. The offensive skill positions are terrible and I'm starting to think the offensive line is vastly overrated.

If the defense can limit the opposing offense to sub-17 points, this team might go 8-8.

My prediction: The number 2 pick in the 2016 draft.
My second prediction: The number 2 pick in the 2016 draft will wash out of football after two seasons. (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Cardale.)

I am more of a hockey fan myself. Nhl - but my team is not doing so well anymore. They had a great start to the season though. Then injuries messed up their lines.

Hey Kurt long time how are you? I don';t know about your oline but Peyton being asked to roll out and do young QB stuff isn't helping. From what I saw in the highlights he was staying in the pocket more. My Steelers have had oline problems forever and this year Pouncey is missing who knows how many games. But our biggest problem is while our Dbacks have physical ability they appear to be dumber than a box of rocks. The Ravens look like they can't play D either so the AFC north may not be so tough this year. I'm a diehard steelers fan and the Broncos have been my second team going back to Elway's playing days. I wish your team luck until week 15.

Hey Dave...it's been a while. Good to see you.

The Ravens losing Suggs is really going to hurt, but they always seem to be in the playoffs and win a game once they get there. Cincinnati looks to have a pretty good team. I think at least 2 teams from that division make the playoffs.

IMO Peyton needs to be in the shotgun, not under center. It gives him a split second longer to see the field and get rid of the ball quicker, which with our oline is really needed.

Heading into the Game of the Millennium this weekend with the Broncos vs. Browns.

Our O is in bad shape. The only offensive player that isn't offensive is WR Emanuel Sanders. Some of it's Peyton, but he's getting no help at all.

However, our D is legit and could end up as one of the best pass rushing teams ever. I am concerned that Demarcus Ware (AFC D player of the month) is hurt with back spasms, but we have lots of pass rushing depth.

I can't believe my Colts lost to whoever it was.

This week we seek to rebound against the Jets at home on Monday night.

I've hated the Jets and Joe Willie ever since they upset my Colts in Super Bowl 3. I forgave Broadway about 10 years ago but I still hate the stinking kelly green Jets.

Ps. I hope this is not our year to underperform etc., but since our division is so weak we should still win the division at only 9-7.

BTW: It's me and you Kurt on November 8th. Too bad we don't play Dan's Brownies as that would have been an easy win to take to the bank.

Note: I have a couple of foreign visitors (think "Dam People") coming in country for a week and they want to see an NFL game so I'll be at FedX Field this Sunday to see the Skins take on the Rams. Fortunately, since the Skins suck out loud, tickets are going for only $50-80 dollars nowadays for some pretty good seats.

I believe the wife paid $50 for super close parking and I'll be on the 2nd level around the 40 yard line!

I wasn't expecting much of a season from the 49ers after last year and the preseason but they looked pretty good against Minnesota. Is Minnesota that bad or are the niners not as bad as expected? We'll find out soon I guess but I was impressed with Kaepernick's improvement in the pocket and Carlos Hyde's running.

I have my answer two weeks later. The 9ers are baaaaaad, and not in a good way.

The other local team, the Raiders, on the other hand look better than they have in many years. They just might win 8 games this year!

After going 0-2, my Colts come back on the Titans and save our season. A 9-7 record should be enough to win the division and move on to the playoffs again.

    - Tim's 49'ers are not what they used to be as they get crushed by the upstart Cardinals who may be on the verge of taking over the NFC West.

    - Kurt's Broncos handle Detroit in Detroit and stay undefeated as the Lions stay winless in 3 tries.

    - The Seahawks and Eagles get their first win after starting 0-2. Will their slow starts prevent them from returning to the playoffs?

    - The Bills punish Miami 41-14. Are they for real or is Miami that bad?

    - The Pats continue to roll along destroying hapless Jacksonville.

    - Dan's Browns do what they do - lose again to the lowly Raiders - but another Ohio team...

    - The Bengals are now clearly the class of the AFC North and IMHO toyed with the Ravens on the way to nailing them with their 3rd straight loss to open the season.

    - This has never happened to the Ravens before and they are the last team to allow it to happen.

For now. While I'm pretty sure they'll eventually come back to form, the offense is scaring me a bit. But, alas, this is the NFL thread.

It's an interesting (kind of) debate as to which team is worse at drafting QBs...the Browns or the Chiefs?

KC hasn't had a QB drafted by them win a game since Todd Blackledge.

And with as many QBs as the Browns have drafted over the years, you'd think they would have accidently drafted one that could play.

Green Bay overwhelms KC 38-28 in a return matchup of the first Super Bowl as Aaron Rodgers befuddles the KC defense on Monday night, tossing five TDs.

    - Rodgers is at the top of his game and would be my 1st pick if I were to build a NFL team right now.

    - The head coaches, Mike Mccarthy and Andy Reid sprang from the same coaching tree- from Bill Walsh via Mike Holmgren.

    - Green Bay looks like the team to beat in the NFC - but its early.

Watch the Browns accidentally win that one. It would take some Keystone Kops shenanigans on the Bronco's part and the Browns to find a way to, well, not "Browns" things up, but I've seen stranger things.

My prediction, though: 34-13 Broncos. You heard it hear first. Go ahead and play your video.

Can you honestly say if the situation were reversed that you woudn't feel the same way about your kicker?

The Brown's haven't had a good owner in years. They should at least try to lure Ozzie away from the Ravens.

I feel that way about all our positions. We're just one player away at qb, rb, wr, te, og, ot, de, dt, olb, mlb, cb, ss, fs, k, p, and long snapper to go 8-8.

Ozzie is too loyal to Ravens ownership to come to the Browns, unless - maybe - if the Ravens fired him.

How about the refs blowing a game for the Lions last night against the SeaHawks?

It's like under a couple minutes to go and the Lions are threatening to take the lead..

Calvin Johnson AKA Megatron catches a pass around the 10 and is about to go in and just as he tries to stretch the rock across the goal line the guy in SeaHawk's secondary who was just holding out but signed a new contract punches the ball out of his grasp and then it's about to roll/bounce out of the end zone when a Seattle linebacker calmly pushes the ball out of the end zone while it was up in the air.

The NFL says a defensive player cannot bat the ball out of the end zone and the ball should have been awarded to the offense at the 1 yard line.

But the refs on the field called it a touchback and awarded possession to Seattle who still needed at least 1 first down to really ice the game - which they converted.

IMHO, this win by the Seattle football team is tainted because Detroit had plenty of time to score the go ahead TD.

Are they kidding? What was the line?

    I just saw the video...

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-h...knockout-punch

Note: This is the 2nd time Megan, I mean Megatron has messed up when the game was really on the line.

Anyone remember the cool catch in the end zone when he slid and then rolled over and then coolly let the ball go in what looked to most people - as if he had total control of the ball.

But NFL rules say you must hold on to that ball when you come down to the ground and the Lions and all their fans went home sad again.

I just saw the video and that's not exactly how it happened...

Atlanta, New England, Green Bay, Denver, Carolina and Cincinnati remain unbeaten.

    - My Colts have won 3 consecutive games after starting 0-2 and two in a row without Luck.

    - Tim's 49ers collapse in final minute against the G-Men and fall to 1-4.

    - Kurt's Broncs continue to roll along staying undefeated.

    - Dan's Browns squeak out a win in overtime against the struggling Ravens 33-30 and are now 2-3 - what a surprise.

I think the Broncos offense is schizo. They have to pick Peyton's offense or Kubiak's. Can't do both. I'd go with what works best for Peyton because he's such a quality player, knows his limits, and probably last shot at da Ring.

Scary to rely on the D to come up with the game changing plays.

Yesterday my Colts ran the most bizarre trick play in NFL history and it didn't work.

We were only down 27-21 with about a minute to go in the 3rd quarter when it happened.

Now the Pats led 27-21, and the Colts faced a fourth-and-3 at their own 37. On came the punt team -- and all sanity disappeared. Final score 34-27.

You can see the play here.

Colts' fake punt gaffe could have Chuck Pagano on the hot seat - NFL.com

    In other NFL news...

    - The UNdefeated Panthers come from 17 down to beat Seattle putting the reigning NFC champs' season into even more doubt.

    - Bengals continue rolling along UNdefeated - beating the Bills 34-21.

    - The Pack remain UNdefeated nipping the Chargers and Phillip Rivers' 500+ passing day.

    - Kurt's UNdefeated Broncos get by Dan's Browns 26-23 - who are playing respectable ball.

    - Tim's 49ers get some revenge on Ravens (25-20) for Brother Bowl Super Bowl Loss a few years ago.

    - Detroit finally win one versus Chicago and is the last team to win a game this season.

This could have been posted here or in the NBA thread, but I chose to post it here.

Bronco LB Von Miller is from Texas and has a friend on the Dallas Mavericks (I can't remember how?).

Anyway, they had a friendly debate that's been discussed by the local Denver sports media: Who would win a 40 yard race? Dirk Nowitsky or Peyton Manning?

I hate to admit it, but I'd probably go with Dirk, although we could probably time it with an sun dial.

In the Heisman race, it looks like Leonard Fournette is a lock. But there's a kid at Tim's school, Stanford, that will get some mention.

His name is Christian Macaffery and he's Eddie Macaffery's son. Eddie Mac was a WR on the Broncos Superbowl winning teams in the 90s, and also played for Tim's 49ers.

Christian Macaffery is really tearing it up at Standford. I think he's averaging something like 250+ all purpose yards per game as a sophmore. He's probably the best high school football player Colorado ever produced.

Another son of Eddie Mac's, Max Macaffery, is playing at Duke and had two TDs this past weekend (I think?). A third son is a QB on the number 1 rated high school team in Colorado.

Snyder's new argument for R*dskins: We have a First Amendment right to an offensive trademark

    BTW...

Kurt's Broncos and my Colts meet this weekend as Payton returns to Indiana. My Colts desperately need a win and the undefeated Broncos are due for a loss but are playing quite well after dispatching Green Bay last week.

Note: Colts fire offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. I think this cuts the last ties to the Dungy era.

Fortunately CBS will carry the game in my area. (Maryland)

After racing off to a 17-0 lead (and after lots of extra loud yelling by me) my Colts hold on and remove Kurt's Broncos from the ranks of the unbeaten 27-24.

    Lesson for all coaches:

If you're punting on the last play of the half or game, simply kick the ball out of bounds and there will be no return for a TD.

With 5 divisional games remaining and games against the Sucaneers and Dolfaces we should end up no less than 9-7 to win our division (weakest in the NFL) and I wouldn't be surprised if we meet the Broncs again in the playoffs.

Only three unbeatens remain... The Pats, Bengals and Panthers.

    Surprise of the year?

My QB Andrew Luck has some bad luck as the Broncos injured him putting him out for two to six weeks. I'm not sure we can win the division now and Matt Hasselbeck is our only hope.

Andrew was injured on a play in which he had plenty of time to slide instead of trying to become a running back and the result was he was sandwiched and injured.

Last game C Mac had something like 389 total yards, including a 90 yard kick return for a TD, setting the all time Stanford record for all purpose yards in a game.

He leads the Nation, averaging 255 all purpose yards per game, almost 50 yards ahead of the second place player.

C Mac with 461 all purpose yards against USC, which doesn't include him also passing for a TD. He ran for a TD, rushed for one and passed for one. Plus...he broke Barry Sanders' record for all purpose yardage in a season.

Forget just inviting C Mac to the Heisman ceremonies, he should win it.

And to top it off, his younger brother was the QB on the team that just won the Colorado high school 5A championship.

Tim's 49ers lost yesterday because of their horrific all-one-color uniforms. What's with the all black look Tim? Are they trying to look intimidating - like the Raiders used to look?

I sure hope my Colts don't follow suit and wear all blue top and bottom. Yuck!!!

The NFL should stop the practice asap because IMO it distracts from the distinct historic look and feel of the teams and games - at least for me. Teams should be in their traditional uniforms except decent throwback uniforms once or twice a year but the all-one-color look has got to go.

I wonder what is the record of teams that wear those getups? On Turkey day, someone said the Panthers looked as if they had on pajamas.

    AFC:

    - Steelers Vs. Bengals

If Andy Dalton doesn't play - I'll take the Steelers.

    - Chiefs Vs. Texans

Chiefs are hot as hell right now.

    NFC:

    - Seahawks Vs. Vikings

A young Viking team will learn a lesson or two as the defending NFC champs are on a mission to get back to the big game.

    - Packers VS. Skins

I can't see the Skins winning this one but stranger things have happened. My pick is the battle tested

I agree but I heard something about them not wanting to lose their highly valued offensive coordinator.

      Note:

This year, AFC Wild Card games are on Saturday and NFC games are on Sunday. I can't remember when the NFL didn't mix the games of Wild Card Weekend up so that each conference played a game on Saturday and a game on Sunday.

The real problem was Lovie running the defense and losing the last 4 games, 3 of which they should of won.
Personally I think the better move would of been to give Dirk K. a big ass raise and hire a new defensive coordinator and staff.
Dirk is on the short list for the head coach job but is also being interviewed by the 49ers, Dolphins, and one other team I can't think of.

After coming back with a young backup QB yea, it must be killing the coach of the Bengals to lose a game because your players were UNdisciplined.

I hear he's going to be fired.

Yup. I don't understand why they did not just run out the clock.

Although painful, I was rooting for the Steelers just so the Broncos would not play KC.

They could have used a first down but he should have known to be very safe with the ball - as in run very low to the ground and keep two hands on the ball - but he didn't - and the rest is history.

All visiting teams come away (as I predicted) with a victory this Wild Card Weekend.

I thought Seattle would have an easier time with a young Viking ballclub but I think the weather was a major factor in the game being so close with the Vikes losing on a botched chippy field goal attempt at the end of the game.

To be fair, that game was complete shit show of horrid officiating.

Earlier in the game there were more bad calls, at least one for the Bengals and one for the Steelers. When you get bad calls, it gets in the players heads, even if another bad call goes the other way.

And the two game wining penalties... one was marginal and one was complete bs. To have the game decided on those is an embarrassment to the league.

The crossing hit was not blatant... he was crossing full speed to get to the play and Brown was up for the ball. Unti the last moment it looked like he was crossing deep, until Brown came down and lurched forward. Even then, hit was still oblique, clipping a shoulder.

I'm not saying it was impossible he intended a dirty / late hit... just that he was caught by surprise by Brown lurched forward into his path.

Just because Brown was knocked out doesn't mean it was an intentional foul.

The second angle... Browns head clipped Burficts shoulder pad. Third angle you can see Brown high with Burfict crossing deep, and then Brown falling into his path.

If you're going to be calling a clearly game winning penalty you better have a clear cut case. And this was not the clear cut case to make that stand.

And then to call the additional 15 on the after chaos... that was just complete bullshit. 100% pure.

But of course, this ticks all the boxes politically. tough stand on violence. check.

What a farce. This is an embarassment to the league, and I'm not talking about the hit. I'm talking about the officiating and the pussified reactions.

Earlier in the game the first penalty would have been ok. You make the point, maybe calm him down. It wasn't blatantly wrong call. It was just a weak one, and contextually inappropriate at that spot in the game. You can't make that point on that shaky of a call under those game circumstances.

Well you caaaaaaannnnn, as they did. But that should never have decided that game.

I'm not with the earlier in the game stuff. A penalty is a penalty.

In little league, I threw a interception, that was looking like it was going to be run back, and then when someone came to block me, I turned my back, threw my hands up, got hit, the ref throws the flag, we get the call - negating the TD.

They were mad as hell. A friend of mine of the other team said the coach kept saying that dam #12.

      Now...

If you're talking about the pass play I think it should have been a penalty. He had plenty of time to not do what he did. It did not have to end that way. The only TV person that I've seen defending that hit was Prime Time.

The only reason I can think of for the second 15 yarder, was if Pacman Jones touched Joey Porter in an aggressive manner. If so, he crossed the line and was suckered into doing it by Porter - whom I believe was given a game ball and who also should not have been on the field at all. Especially once he began jawing with Bengals.

If no one touched anyone - in an aggressive manner, then the second 15 yarder was arbitrary and cruel.

All they did was run their mouths unless they were talking about harming the refs.

But if they touched Porter or anyone else in an aggressive manner I'd have to say they were Raidered.

I looked for the footage but to no avail. I think the NFL is making that scarce.

I remember a young San Diego team lead by Ladamin Thompson being snuckered out of a playoff win by a lesser New England team. They committed 4 or 5 costly penalties to seal their fate.

You may remember it. That's that one time LT was really upset - talking about they have no class and whatnot after that heartbreaking playoff loss.

"Contextually inappropriate"... A penalty should be called the same at any time or "context" of the game, if the refs have a spine. "Well that would be holding, except in this context of only a minute left in a game closer than 10 points" said a rule never.

Burfict's intent is irrelevant. The only issue that matters is, did Burfict hit a defenseless receiver in the head or not? I don't see how anyone can say the blow wasn't a head shot. According to the rule, it doesn't matter whether Brown created the contact or not. It was Burfict's responsibility to avoid contact to the head.

The call, or lack of it, that bothers me is the one involving Jones and Porter. I could be wrong, but from what I understand no assistant coach is allowed on the field ever, including for a player injury. If correct, Porter should also have had a penalty that if called would have made Jones' penalty off setting. This would have made the last second field goal about 50 yards, tough in the weather conditions. I'm not sure the Steelers had enough time to run another play?

It's against the rules for coaches to be on the field, even head coaches. It's a rule that is not always enforced. In-fact they can't even enter the field during team timeouts...

Either or both team attendants and their helpers may enter the field to attend their team during a team timeout by either team. No other non-player may come on the field without the Referee's permission, unless he is an incoming substitute (5-2-2).

During any team timeout, all playing rules continue in force. Representatives of either team are prohibited from entering the field unless they are incoming substitutes, or team attendants or trainers entering to provide for the welfare of a player, and any game-type activities are prohibited on the Field of Play.
If they threw a flag on Joey Porter then they would have had to have thrown at least 9 flags on the Bengals coaching staff earlier in the game. ;-)

And check out the Bengals Wallace Gilberry...he is the guy with his helmet off. What do you suppose Gilberry was trying to prove rushing over to bump Joey from behind? No answer neccesary...

I think we can put the coaches on the field thing to rest now...

FTR...the Steelers had 18 seconds to run another play but they opted to kick the game winning field goal on first down.

        Cheers

I believe it's relevant as Joey Porter being on the field is directly related to the penalty called on Jones. I've followed Porter's career since he played at Colorado State. He's a hot head and instigator. If a call is going to be made on Jones, then it should also be made on Porter.

18 seconds with no time outs is the borderline time to get the special teams on the field if the clock is running. It would have been an interesting call to run another play or not.

Erhmmm...that seems to be a bit of a contradiction.

And we know the Bengals coaches, about 9 of them at one time in-fact, were on the field and were not flagged...and coaches on the field occurred several times during the game. If any calls are going to made on the coaches then it should be called the "same way at any time" just like you rightfully stated earlier, no matter what (if they have a spine).

The coaches "on the field" calls were made the same way...they were not called at all.

I have watched the entire incident at 1/4 second HD slow mo, and parts of it at 1/15 slow mo, as well as several at times at regular speed, and the clear instigators were Pacman, Burfect, Gilberry and a couple of other Bengals. The Steelers remained calm as they knew the game was winnable after Burfect's illegal headhunt hit. If so many Bengals would not have argued the proper call on Burfect for several minutes, Porter probably would not have entered the field, and Pacman would have never slammed the ref.

Tons of Bengals were overly steamed and aggressive when Burfect drew the flag...and if you run the incident back I think you will see it much the same way. In-fact the Bengals probably should have been flagged 15 more for arguing the easy and proper call so vehemently.

Pacman ran over from like 20 or more yards away when he slammed the ref....he was nowhere near Porter and blasted over to get him when he saw him, and that was AFTER things had calmed down substantially. Porter had not spoken a single word to Adam.

The Bengals need to learn how to take their medicine...and I believe it is partially Marv's fault that they do not how to swallow the pill properly. Let us not forget that Pacman for many years tried to dump his nickname and wants to be called Adam so he can leave his bad reputation behind.

Note to Adam --> changing your name back to you birth name does not change your reputation, behavior or your attitude. You have to do that yourself. If a call was made on Porter then it should have been made on the Bengals coaches, and when the Bengals were on the field with their helmets off, and when the Bengals excessively argued the illegal hit call, and .......

A lack of poise, control, and team discipline cost the Bengals the game late, a game that they were damn lucky to be in first place. If you watched the entire game then I think you may know what I mean.

I don't think the hit was a clear cut penalty.

It sure looked like it on the initial angle, where it clearly looked like Burfict just teed off on him. But on the replay you can also see that Burfict was aiming deeper than Browns location, you can see Brown come down and lurch, and you can see Brown ducking his head into Burficts shoulder pad (not necc intentionally).

I'm just saying that at race pace things happen fast and it's not always someones "fault".

On the replay, with the benefit of multiple angles, I have a hard time finding clear fault. That's all I'm saying.

Earlier in the game, a close call won't necc. seal the game. at the 50 w/ under a minute left? Just ugh.

So you're saying Brown intentionally took that hit to draw the flag? C'mon man! Watch some game film on Burfict. He's the dirtiest player in the league and he had time to pull up. As far as the penalty on Jones they said he shoved an official. There was a lot of bad calls missed calls in that game but the last 2 were right. Both Burfict (undrafted head case) and Jones ( where do I start) play for the Bengals because no one else wants them.
The fact that the fans threw stuff at Ben when he was being carted off of the field shows just how little regard the Bengals (fans and players) have for the game. No class, its Karma. For the record I don't think the Steelers will get past Denver I'm glad we beat the classless Bengals.

I don't think AGC said that. Jones did (link below). With Brown going through concussion protocols and likely being out next game, I doubt he faked it.

It is a bit hard to tell, but if not intentional, I end up thinking Burfict could have done better to avoid
the hit to the head. It seems like he had time to straighten up instead of ducking the shoulder.
Especially given his track record and the opinions of a lot of the other players.

Adam Jones of Cincinnati Bengals says Antonio Brown of Pittsburgh Steelers was faking, winked at him

I agree with you to some extent here --> but you can't really lump Burfect in with most NFL "impact players"...not until he gets himself more under control in this league. The guy is way too aggressive outside the boundaries of the gridiron.

          Consider this:

#1 Burfect was a projected first (or second) rounder until his 2011 ASU season personal foul debacle (read on), his failed dope test, and his horrible combine. In-fact he had so many problems the projected first rounder went undrafted! Most NFL teams knew to stay FAR away from Vontaze even though he is a beast of a baller.

#2 Burfect had an EMBARRASSING and ASTOUNDING 16 personal fouls in 26 games at ASU! In-fact he was flagged for two late hits on the QB in a single game against Oregon, and then was benched the next game for headbutting the Oregon QB.

#3 His personality skills were so bad some of his supporters tried keeping him from doing interviews prior to the NFL draft.

#4 Led NFL in penalties in 2013.

#5 Led the NFL in 2013 with 8 unnecessary roughness penalties and/or roughing the passer penalties.

#6 Same old same old in 2014...6 unnecessary roughness penalties and/or roughing the passer penalties (I believe that again led the league.)

#7 Remember when he was fined for intentionally twisting the ankles of Greg Olsen and Cam Newton in the same game...and Newton was coming off of off-season ankle surgery on that same ankle. Not to mention the fact that he also injured Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) with an illegal hit in the same game. Are you kidding me? Dirty? Yup, Burfect is about as dirty as it gets these days.

#8 Remember when he threw the $80,000 camera to the ground and injured the camera man...

#9 Again, Burfect injuring the the three best players on the Steelers in just 2 game this season is quite a coincidence. Many folks believe the low blindside hit on Ben that took him out earlier in the season was intentional...and it's obvious he lowered the shoulder on a defensless Antonio Brown. And let us not forget...Burfect injured Rothlesberger, Leveon Bell (season ender), and Antonio Brown this season, and another Bengal took Bell out last season with a direct hit to the knee right before the playoffs. You can't convince me that a player or two on the Bengals does not have injuring the Steeler's stars on their mind when they strap it up.

Not enough? This clip below shows him being DIRTY even after he sacked Big Ben on Saturday...watch how he slams his knee into Ben's shoulder UFC style before he gets up.

Dude is about as dirty as it gets and nobody can honestly deny that fact.

He had time to pull up on Brown's hit and didn't. Why? Because he is DIRTY!! He has no respect for the game, or his own team mates for that matter.

I know how to read and I also know how to debate without insulting someone. We all have a right to our opinion but it's not necessary to insult people. By saying he "lurched forward" it sure sounds like you think he had control of his actions enough to cause his own injury. Again. Watch tape on Burfict. Watch the knee into Ben's shoulder (legal hit) on the sack. Watch him celebrate after the tackle that blew out Bell's knee. A legal hit but was it necessary to celebrate?
Look at some other games where he intentionally tried to end players careers.

3 game suspension for Burfect --> it probably should have been 3 years for quite possibly the dirtiest player in the NFL. It might be about time for Marvin to pack his bags too...0-7 playoff record and seemingly a lack of team discipline.

Quoting former Bengals QB Boomer Esiason...

"I'm a former Bengal. I'm embarrassed by the way that this game ended and by the way these guys carried themselves on the football field today," Esiason said during the CBS post game show. "I feel bad for Marvin Lewis. I'll tell you one thing, if Lewis can't control his players, then maybe Marvin Lewis shouldn't be on the sideline coaching that drek."

Stephen A. expounds...this one is excellent.

If Marvin is fired, only time will tell if the Bengals get better, stay the same or return to what they were before Marvin - which you know all too well.

So folks should be very careful here.

I remember the Lions of the 1990s (I think) under coach Wayne Fountes went to the playoff almost every year but couldn't get over the hump. Fountes was fired and Detroit slipped into the abyss of a long drought of losing.

Ps. I'd love to know if Pacman touched Joey Porter to enable that last 15 yarder that sealed fate of your Bengals.

True....but at this point many folks are considering his apparent lack of control, and his team's shoddy behavior and professionalism as well. It only takes a couple bad apples to ruin it for a whole lot of folks...

I remember as well...Matt Millen fired Gary Moeller after Moeller went 4-3 taking over for Bobby Ross (Fontes successor)...Ross himself was not terrible by Lions standards at 27-30. After those two left...it went straight downhill for Detroit and basically stayed that way until 2011.

This is one angle I can find....he clearly barreled into the scene with authority. In-fact everyone else was relatively calm and the scene was "dissipating" when that nutter arrived. He definitely ran into the big ref (82), in-fact he basically slammed him in the back, and may have bumped another ref (132), trying to get at Joey. He tried to barrel through the refs to beef with Porter. Watching it live, you could clearly see the "beefing" was all but done when Pacman decided it was time to run through the refs to get to JP, Pacman style.

See the :50 mark...freeze frame slow mo to get a good look...the third ref (82), can't be seen at first because Pacman is climbing his back.

Apologies. (I've been watching the stars production of Spartacus)

So that's what happened to draw the second 15 yard penalty that put Pittsburgh in chip shot field goal range to seal the game.

No one would give Pacman a chance and this is how he repays the Bengals. The Pacman strikes again.

I had no skin in the game but I really hate it when teams do something really stupid in terms of play strategy or penalties to lose a game. (unless it helps my Colts)

Bonehead Stuff In The College National Championship Game:

Last night in the college national championship game Clemson had control of the game being up 24-21 with about 11:30 to go in the game and Alabama was facing a 3rd and 11 at about their own 35. Chances are Alabama would be forced to punt after a sack or incompletion because...

Up until that time, the Alabama QB didn't have a particularly good game. But for some strange reason the Clemson defense decided to blitz and Alabama completed a bomb for a TD to go ahead and the game was never the same.

I am firm in the belief that blitzing (rushing 5 or more men across the line of scrimmage) ...

...on 3rd and long (7 or more), only increases the chances of something bad happening to the defense. If you're trying to knock someone out of field goal range, or if the opposing QB has been red hot and pressure must be applied to stop him - maybe I can understand the call. But most of the time according to football history the defense is much better off rushing only four men and playing some type of loose pass coverage.

On 3rd and 10 NFL offenses only convert about 30% of the time and I bet it's even lesser in the college game because they are not as talented as the pros to make those outstanding plays needed to convert on 3rd and long situations.

If the defense blitzes and if the QB somehow escapes the blitz... chances are there will be hell to pay - and that's what happened to Clemson on that game turning play.

IMHO it was the turning point of the game as Clemson never recovered.

          Wow??

Later in the game, Clemson also allowed Alabama to recover an onsides kick that never even touched the ground. The player from the kicking team caught the ball - unmolested, as if he were catching a pass.

The Clemson coaches saw the strange kickoff formation Alabama lined up in and should have called a timeout. But they didn't.

          BTW...

          Congrats Alabama!!

Hey, I have no problem taking Burfict and Suh (et al) to task and holding their feet to the fire.

I only have a problem doing it on a shady ass judgement calls (ie room for debate) that results in an automatic game winning field goal. In a play off game. Shameful. Embarrassment to the league and to the officials.

It's a question of context. Of being sophisticated enough to recognize that while holding the woman in labor to write the speeding ticket for 2 mph might be the letter of the law, that the circumstances might not be the right time and place to make that particular political point.

Actually, it was a couple of Cincy players that were the most embarrassing in that game, and I think most NFL fans that saw the game will agree with me.

If you employ out of control players it may come back to bite you one day and that is exactly what happened to the Bengals on Saturday night.

The officials are not put there to protect players from getting penalties (you know, sorta NBAish) --> they are put there to call penalties when they see them and that is exactly what the did towards the end of the game.

The fact is both Burfect and Pacman must have little common sense because they should have known after the league was embarrassed by Odell's complete lack of control a couple of weeks ago that the refs should not, and would not, let that BS fly. The refs were quite embarrassing in that game by not flagging Beckham until late when he probably could of have been flagged at least a dozen times prior to that. Not to mention the fact that the refs imposed an almost unprecedented "no-fly zone" at midfield during pregame warm-ups that was created because Burfect instigated an on-field fight prior to a previous game with the Steelers. It looked like the NFL had the entire officiating crew out there, so if you see a no-fly zone at midfield, you may want to mind you P's and Q's that day or night. You most certainly might not want to slam into those same officials when they are trying diffuse a situation after a Steeler star was injured by an illegal hit to the head, A Steeler hall-of-fame assistant coach on the sidelines didn't mind his P's and Q's and he got 15 yards for it earlier in the game.

That Odell Beckham Goes Crazy game was a huge embarrassment and black eye for the NFL and the Giants --> and the Cincy ballers should have known it was not gonna fly in a high profile playoff game less than a month later.

The refs did miss some calls both ways in that game so allow me to mention just a few.

#1 Burfect probably should have been flagged for going UFC with his knee on Big Ben's shoulder when he was down on the turf. That would have been 15 yards and a crucial automatic first down late in the game.

#2 The Steelers were flagged for excessive celebration when two players celebrated apart but with the same motion after a touchdown that was CALLED BACK. The 15 yard penalty was still enforced. Not a big problem until you consider a bit later 4 or 5 Bengals ran about half the length of the field and up tunnel celebrating after a late turnover. That should have been a delay of game or an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but nothing was called.

#3 THE REAL BIGGIE... The refs literally stole a touchdown from the Steelers earlier on when a Bengal clearly fumbled and a Steeler picked it up and ran it in for what should have been a touchdown. One problem though...the field refs incorrectly ruled the Bengal down. The call was overturned and the Steelers were given the ball at the spot of the fumble but they DID NOT get the touchdown they clearly deserved if the play would have been called correctly on the field. Yup...that "stolen" six probably would have put the game out of reach at that point...add seven to Pitt's score and see what it looks like.

Now to a few other calls that were HUGE calls that went against the Steelers...not neccesarily bad calls, just calls that showed that the officials were making "meaningful" calls against the Steelers.

#1 Steelers called for a penalty that knocked them out of FG range.

#2 Steelers called for a penalty that knocked them out of FG range on a subsequent drive.

#3 An apparent Steelers TD called back because the ball carrier (another defenseive player) was ruled down by the booth.

It's quite obvious to me the officials were not biased for the Steelers, and it's pretty clear a lot of the ref F-ups went against the Steelers Saturday night.

It's the NFL...same ol' same ol'...I have been calling for Roger's head for quite a few years now and I am not in any way a "leagur"... In-fact I have been critical of some of the professional leagues' officiating standards for the past 25 years and I am often one of the biggest critics of the officiating.

Anyway...such is they way the NFL goes these days.

    Cheers

You said you were done posting so I was not even expecting a reply from you!!! Nothing shady at all, I merely added a bit more supporting information to my post, homer. Facts? You seem to not know what a fact is when it smacks you directly in the face.

You have made almost zero sense with your argument on this thread and I am calling your homer-ranting-behind out! Read the NFL rule and hope for a better season next year.

Just ugh.
Again, read the NFL rules....fault does not come into play on a blow to a defenseless receivers head.

Players in a defenseless posture are:
A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass (passing posture)
A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player

Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder,
even if the initial contact is lower than the player’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him
You have posted nothing here that makes much sense, and no matter how bad the officiating was, a couple of Bengal players crossed the line late and embarrassed the team and the NFL --> and it ended up costing Cincy the game.

    Cheers

My Predictions For The Divisional Playoff Round:

    - A young Carolina team will fall to the battle tested defending NFC champs.

    - The Cards will out last The Pack 35-31.

    - The Chiefs fall to The Pats. The only chance they have is to knock Tom Brady out early in the game and these days it's really hard to do legally since you can't hit the QB high or low or land on him with malice.

    - The Steelers luck runs out against Kurt's Broncos. (if Payton plays)

Well the Pats take care of KC and Arizona gets by Green Bay even though they tried their best to lose the game with IMHO, strange defensive calls at the end of regulation.

    - First, it's a 4th and 20 and Arizona plays some weird defense that allows a GB receiver to go unmolested up the sideline to make the first down on a 4th and 20. 4th and 20?

Why not play the sticks and let no man behind you - in that situation and go with the percentages?

    - Blitzing in a hail Mary situation by the Cards IMHO is what made it much easier for another miracle play to happen by AAron Rodgers.

It didn't happen this time but sooner or later Coach Arians is going to hurt his team with his IMHO, unnecessary and unorthodox play calls.

Buffalo Bills Hire First Full-Time Woman Coach In NFL History

Kathryn Smith, who served as the administrative assistant to Bills head coach Rex Ryan during the 2015 season, will take over as the team's special teams quality control coach.

    I'm wondering...

Is it her job to do her best to prevent the Bills from doing something stupid on special teams???

What are the stupid things a teams can do on special teams?

    Punt Returns:

1: Fair catching a punt at the 5.

2: Clipping on the punt return when you were clearly going to get great field position.

Come on man! If you see his back number & especially his name - you can not block him.

3: Fair catching for no good reason.

4: Not catching the punt and then getting a long, long roll towards your own goalline.

5: Trying to break one, when the last thing the team needs is a fumble and they fumble.

    BTW...

The Arizona Cardinals made history before the 2015 season when they hired Jen Welter as an assistant coaching intern for the preseason. No other woman had served in such a high-ranking coaching role in the NFL before her.

Mental error leads to 6 points. Let's see if it costs the Broncs in the end.

      Here's a better one

but in many instances you will need to do an internship as a Quality Control Coach. Contemporary coaches are always searching for an edge over their opponents. Now that the Computer Age is upon us, the analyzing has become more technical. Many of those coaches have assistants called the "Quality Control Coach." However, the QCC doesn't really do much coaching at all. They spend all day multitasking, breaking down film up to five weeks in advance and analyzing data. They work all hours, in hotel lobbies, on airplanes and at their team's headquarters producing reports for their Head Coach. They do get to do some coaching though. The QC coaches often run the "Scout" team in practices. From their extensive film work and breaking down plays, the QCC can be a great help preparing their team because they know the tendencies of their opponents. They make sure the Scout teams give the starters an accurate look at what they'll face on Sunday in practice during game weeks. The Role of an NFL Quality Control Coach - Mile High Report

One thing I do admire about the New England team is they never do something unfortunate (mental mistake) to hurt their cause. They are not going to lose that way. Belichick will not have it.

--- I also think they are probably trained on how to get their opponents to do something unfortunate to hurt their own team.

Next up, renegade defensive coordinators who blitz when they have no business blitzing and end up hurting their team in the process.

It cracks me up and also infuriates me because blitzing on 3rd and 10 or more does increase the chances of something bad happening to the defense - when the NFL is converting at only about 30% in that situation. IMHO, It jumps up to the low 40s% and with the increased threat of a breakaway play.

But some def coordinators feel the need to create pressure in the QB.

Who remembers the 85 Bears who blitzed on almost every play?

Keep an eye out on 3rd and long situations.

Yes!! As far as I'm concerned we could use a new spring football league. It would be a go between the NFL and college football and the quality of play will be pretty decent.

Great first game with a slaughter in the second.

While texting with my two nephews during the game (because we're all snowed in) I told them the Pats will not go down easy and they didn't.

Looks like the Broncos are running into a red hot Panther team but the Broncos have just vanquished the reigning Super Bowl Champs the Patriots with the help of the #1 defense in the NFL.

They say defense wins championships, so it should be one whale of a game.

A whole lot could go wrong.

Of course the overlooked part is what could go right. Msft products are about the only chance anyone has of building an enterprise grade application in the first place. At all.

Adam Shefter, who used to be the Broncos beat writer and who now is on ESPN, brought up an interesting stat about there being only 3 teams since the merger when a team won by more than 30 points in the conference championship game and they are a combined 0-3 in the Super Bowl.

This doesn't mean the Broncos will win. But it doesn't mean they'll lose either.

One thing that that annoys me is all the talk about how the Patriots lost (not the Broncos winning) ad how their OL being so banged up. They seem to have forgotten that we lost both all-pro left tackle Ryan Clady and his replacement Ty Sambrailo, this year's second round pick, both for the season.

Something to look out for is if our starting safeties are healthy. Both have had some injury issues the last half of the season and got hurt during the game and didn't return. We're a much better team when they play. Both backups were walking the street a month or so ago. We lost our regular backup safeties about a month ago.

        IMHO...

Your Broncs soundly defeated the Pats and shut down Mr. Brady but a couple of miscues awarded them 10 points and the game wouldn't have been that close.

Brady hasn't ever done well against the Manning family in the playoffs, or against the Broncos in Denver.

I have a feeling you want Manning to go out on top almost as much as do. And when do you expect to give us Luck, our third Hall of Fame QB we'll get from you guys? Elway and Manning have worked out pretty well for us?

Yep this is going to be one of the more lopsided Bets here with Panthers being the overwhelming favorites.

But I think the Broncos really relish this fact. They don't have much to lose, and I feel they might do something very special.

Carolina is a very tough. But so far, we're 8-2 against teams that made the playoffs this year.

I really hope Peyton can go out on top. I don't think anyone deserves it more.

This year the Super Bowl has the #1 scoring offense Panthers, against the #1 scoring defense Broncos.

This has happened 5 or 6 times in Super Bowl history with the #1 offense winning just once.

At some point in the game there's going to be this moment where the camera is a closeup on Cam's face and everyone sitting in front of a TV will collectively think..."wow, that's the best deer in the headlights face Ive ever seen"

Denver's defense is going to shut Cam down which will bring the rest of their offensive juggernaut to a screeching halt.

Peyton will be aggressive like you've never seen him...this is his last game and he knows it. The HOFer will rise to the occasion like so many HOF athletes ( from any sport) before him...its just what they do.

I doubt there will be a deer in the headlight moment - If you mean a starstruck/stagefright moment.

Maybe you mean the cameras will pan on him when it first sinks in that they are going to lose the game moment - as they always do.

And if the #1 Bronco defense can shut down Tom Brady - they can shut down anyone.

I doubt anyone will score more than 24 points but time will tell.

One thing I noticed a couple of times during the season is that the Broncos let running quarterbacks get too much yardage. I think it was against Luck and Russell Wilson, maybe Rogers, and usually on broken plays. Certainly can't let that happen with Newton, who is maybe more amazing than Wilson.
Stopping Newton's running is key for the Bronco's.

I expect Newton to run at least 10 times in this game.

3 or 4 times by design but the other times after the pocket has collapsed and/or no one can get open.

The Broncos can not allow him to continually hurt them on 3rd downs with his running out of pass plays or designed runs.

      Also...

The Broncos can not get hurt by one of Newton's favorite tricks. It's called ...

... Fake QB Draw Play Action Pass

      Here's how it goes....

1: QB gets the snap - from the shotgun/pistol.

2: He takes a couple steps back as if he's going to pass.

3: He takes a couple of hard steps forward as if he's going to run a QB Draw. He may even semi-squat/crouch for a second - as if he's hiding from the defense.

4: He then quickly drops back again and attempts to throw the ball - normally medium and/or deep.

This is hardly used - maybe 2-3 times a game but it can really confuse a defense, especially one concerned about a QB running the ball. It's really something to see when the defense reacts like a yo-yo to this type of QB action. I don't think anyone in the NFL uses it - but the Panthers do.

      BTW...

      - I expect those league leading Bronco pass rushers to sack him at least a couple of times from behind.

      Notes:

      - The team that wins the sack battle normally wins - like 80% of the time.

      In the AFC Championship game...

The Broncos earned 3.5 sacks while the Pats earned only 3 sacks.

      - The team that loses the turnover battle normally loses NFL games - like 80% of the time.

The Broncos had only one turnover, a Manning fumble but the Patriots had two Brady intercepts.

      In the NFC Championship game...

      - Of course the Cardinals lost the turnover battle with 7 turnovers and they also lost the sack battle 3-1.

      Before I forget...

Don't be surprised if Panther speedster Ted Ginn Jr. drops a pass or two during this game. Panther fans are hoping that if it happens - it happens early in the game.

That Fake QB Draw Play is one where the QB's did get 8 yards ...11 yards against the Broncos.
Twice in one game if I recall correctly. But, the D has almost always done something to turn or get the game back on track.

I hope the our receivers catch all the catchables this game.

This is probably the most I've looked forward to a Super Bowl, regardless of the fact that the Broncos are in it (I think I'm being objective lol).

The Fake QB Draw Play is the one in which Newton or any QB most likely throws the ball and the QB Draw is definitely a running play.

That's way more times than when the Giants were beating up on him - their first SB matchup, on what seemed like every pass play.

Yea, he was doing some weird stuff.

Who remembers that play in which he was hopping around (looking back for a hit) and unsure whether to throw the ball or not that ended in an incomplete pass? That was amazing.

Peyton is no longer a Colt and my sister and niece who just spent 7 years in North Carolina - but just moved back to Maryland, desperately want the Panthers to win. (so they can dab etc.)

I'll be watching the game with at least 15 more (now Panther fans,) family members and will be under enormous pressure to get with the program. I'm sure I'm in for a gut wrenching LOL time - unless the Panther get blown out.

I just want to see a competitive game going into the late 4th and since both defenses are #1 and #2 in the league, I think the first team to 20 points will eventually win the game.

If Kobe left the Lakers, and the situation was the same - my feelings would be the same.

Pass Play To Look Out For On Sunday:

    The Sideline Seem Pass!

Be on the lookout for a pass that will go to a WR that will go up the sideline, and behind the cornerback. The pass will land in the 20-30 yard range.

Of course the WR must beat the corner up the sideline and the QB must get the ball to the wideout before the safety can some over from the hashmarks.

Often QBs like to look straight ahead or in the opposite direction of the throw - before the throw.

This play is often used against the Cover-2 defense in which the defenders close to the line of scrimmage play tight man or zone mostly sitting on Short Passes, while depending on the safeties to protect against the deep pass.

If there is confusion in the secondary, the result could be a big play.

Both teams will attempt this pass play at least 5 times on Sunday.

It will look a lot like this play at the 3:50 mark of this video. (the play after the field goal)

I just woke up at 10:30 am after going to a wild Super Bowl Eve Party last night as we hired a couple of strippers and things got sorta out of hand. I always wake up late on Super Bowl Sunday so that I don't have to wait all day for the game to begin - and I don't have to take a pre-game nap.

Normally it's scrambled eggs and corned beef hash but not this year. I settled for an easy bowl of honey nut cheerios for my traditional Super Bowl Sunday Breakfast.

I'll take my ritualistic Super Bowl Shower at about 1pm while I put a big pan of (Costco) Super Bowl Lasagna in the Super Bowl Stove for almost 2 hours.

At approximately 2 pm and since I won't have my ritual scrambled eggs and corned beef hash for breakfast this year, I'll settle for a corned beef sandwich with some coleslaw for my Super Bowl Lunch.

    About 4:45...

... I'll leave the house for a 10 minutes trip to pick up my 82 year old uncle Joe who's a moving kinda slow at every function, and arrive at my mom's place about 5:30 to wait for the game to begin and I'll watch it with at least 12 family members who can talk to me all they want between plays - but I do not respond starting about 5 seconds before & during plays as I must be on the edge of my seat over 120 times (plays) in this most important game of the year.

Note: I have a 35 year old niece who claims she can't follow the ball - LOL!

I seriously thought about also making my wonderfully tasty salmon cakes for the Super Bowl Party but that would involve way too much work on Super Bowl Sunday and as far as I'm concern no real work should be done on this great day - at least not by me.

    Enjoy the game!!

I think it is going to be a low scoring game - one of the lower scoring super bowls. I also think it is going to be one sided with the Panthers winning pretty easily. Having said that, I am actually hoping for Denver to win. Just don't like Cam Newton. He seems like he has been acting better this year, but in years past the guy was a total tool. Peyton on the other hand has always been an exemplary player and professional.

Congrats Kurt and all Broncos' Fans. And of course Congrats to Peyton. What a Storybook ending to a great career.

Just an incredible game and Peyton will be the first to give the defense all the credit

P..S. Gotta know Budweiser was happy with Peyton's unsolicited shout out about drinking Bud all tonight, at least twice as I heard.

Though ,I'm sure ole Adolph would be turning over in his grave about now

I know Denver is not real close to Oakland. But it is a lot closer than Charlotte

I noticed this myself with Eli. He looked really pissed when Peyton scored the conversion.

I rewinded it right when I saw the shot.

But I chalk it up to Eli's general personality. That's just the way he is. Very low keyed human being. He loves his big bro and is very happy for him.

Yea, lots of people pointed that out on twitter but despite the footage and pics I'm sure he's happy for his big bro. If you watch the footage, you can also see dad cut a quick look at Eli.

I wrote earlier in this thread that he would be sacked at least couple times from behind but I had no clue one of them would be what I have termed a "QB Mugging Supreme" tm.

It's a mugging when the QB is sacked and he fumbles but Supreme must be added when the defense recovers and goes in for a score.

Experience beats youth this time around as a young Panther ballclub did nothing to help their cause, committing 10-15 mistakes while Kurt's Broncos committed only 3 or 4.

The "misunderstanding" by the punt return team of the Panthers - that resulted in that long punt return by the Broncos, drives my point home. That was really incredible.

Once again the team with the #1 defense in the NFL comes away with a win and the team that loses the sack (5.5 to 5.0), and turnover (4-1) battles comes away with a loss- like 80% of the time.

I had a whale of a time and many gut wrenching laughs throughout the game while watching the game with about 12 family members over my mom's house. There were 6 guys and about 6 females along with a couple of little kids.

The ladies asked interesting questions like... why does the punt returner sometimes catch the ball and just stay there - without trying to run?

And... why do the Panthers hold the ball with only one hand even when they're being tackled?

There were plenty of Oh!!!!! moments and the only people who didn't thoroughly enjoy the game were my sister and my niece. Even moms eventually turned on the young Panthers, her daughter & granddaughter with 3 or 4 funny & derisive comments regarding the Panthers that had us falling out with laughter and had my sister saying stuff like ... "Oh no she didn't". But Sis & niece seemed to get over their disappointment in the Panthers by the time they left for their short drive home.

It's a damn shame the season is all over.

    BTW...

Peyton should retire with this blaze of glory.

    And...

Cam needs to learn how to face the tough questions of the press. I know losing the Super Bowl is tough but his 3 minute press conference was not professional at all.

Congrats to Kurt, Elway, Peyton, the Bronco defense and the whole Bronco nation.

It's just so bizarre the whole thing with Manning. I can remember talking about him in 94' when he took over UT after Todd Helton went down with his knee injury.

. And to think all those years since 94' when I was a young man and all the events that happened in my Life since then and to think Manning has gone on that length of time up until last night...it's just amazing considering the sport of football and how most just last 4 years.

Anyway, enough of my Peyton rambling LOL

Because it was all about the Broncos defense and they deserve all the attention, really !!

When I got home from watching the game I caught that skit.
It was the hardest I laughed all day.
As for the game a friend of mine said it best I thought.
He said it looked like the old and focused taught the young and reckless a lesson.

Kubiak was quoted as saying that one of the most important things he learned as a coach
was under Harbaugh about team morale. Terrell Davis greeting Anderson on the tarmac
        when the plane landed...

I also think it has to do with the Broncos owner, Pat Bowlen having Alzheimers and that
the owner, Elway, Kubiak, and Wade Phillips have a history of over thirty years. The
Bowlen family became full owners of the Broncos in 1984.

Nice note from Russell Wilson if Manning retires:

I enjoyed the halftime show as I almost always do and made everyone laugh when I pretended to concentrate on & gulp down my macaroni salad when Beyonce and all those gals began to get really funky with it.

It was a nice contrast with Cold Play starting out mello, Bruno & Co cleverly playing games with the music, and lady B. and her gang of gals"bringing up the rear", with all three acts nicely ending the show together.

    BTW...

Lady GaGa killed the national anthem with IMHO, the second best rendition in Super Bowl History.

And.. IMHO, the funniest commercial was the one with the bank robbers and the Prius.

Officially over 1 million people turn out for the Broncos parade, which is amazing for a city the size of Denver.

Being a sports fan is so tough, for most teams there's a long wait between winning a championship and so many seasons waiting until the next one, and some teams haven't won even one yet. It feels so good when your team finally wins.

Bronco fans are lucky to have an owner like Pat Bowlen that wants to win as much as we do. Since he bought the Broncos, we have more Super Bowl appearances (7) than losing seasons (5) and zero back to back losing seasons.

Good stuff. Too bad there will be those who try to take him down.

Good grief 1996 was 20 years ago. If anyone ever held what I did 20 years ago over my head I would rightfully belong in Purgatory.
