OK, I went to a submarine sandwich shop, and they REFUSED to give me RAW onions on my sandwich! OK RAW onions are one of the most popular sandwich condiments ON THE PLANET! Take away ketchup, mustard, and pickles, and RAW ONIONS are perhaps THE NUMBER ONE CONDIMENT! They may even be MORE popular than pickles! They are used on ALL SORTS OF SANDWICHES and, HISTORICALLY, they have mostly been COLD!!!!!!!!!! So WHAT reason did the MANAGER give for not giving me such a popular condiment? He matter of factly said that they were NOT considered edible, and so they use their bare hands in there to serve them, and thus COOK them!
UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!

TRANSLATION? "SIR.... We INTENTIONALLY CONTAMINATE them so you may get some disease, like salmonella, and DIE, so we depend on the HEAT in cooking them to reduce the chance of that!
SERIOUSLY! It is ******IMPOSSIBLE****** to get salmonella from plant products UNLESS they are handled by people that have gone to the restroom and not cleaned their hands or, in a similar way, have contaminated the product!
OK, OK, they just admitted to putting their customers at risk, and I felt like throwing up. WELL, several years ago ANOTHER company did the *****SAME****** thing! And HEY, only NINE people died! Unfortunately, they provided ANOTHER popular product, peanuts, and obviously had salmonella contaminated equipment. Some peanut products TO THIS DAY are no longer available because the old source provided contaminated products, and forced recalls.
They FINALLY got to trying one guy that was far removed! And HE got 28 years, IN JAIL!!
