Minnesota Vikings' mascot wanted $20K per game to do his crazy act (he's been doing it over 20 years). The team said nyet.

Was he paid previously? How much? It didn't say in the article.

If all he does is work 8 home games a season - the max time in is probably 2 full weeks a year, isn't it?

Every now and then the same lesson is taught - no one is indispensable.

He was paid $1,500 per game. A few famous mascots make 6 figures, but most start out around $25K or so. 8 home games is not a lot of work. One that makes 6 figures has 41 home games to work.

I don't know, but don't they also have to do public appearances, etc.

I don't know about others, but he didn't. He performed at 8 home games a year. Not very much or very hard work. Easy $1,500 if you ask me.

Hmmm. I'm looking for a little part-time something.

I hear they're looking for a replacement for this guy. Word on the street is the current performer lacks motivation.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

So that blind people can hate them as well.

That's just a terrible idea for a mascot. That's just awful. I really can't say more.

                Too late, I think.

Although, if I used my true photo for my avatar, you all could see the potential.

            Perfect example of Greed .
The guy thought he was more important than he really was.
And he way over estimated his Market value.

There are probably 5K more guys in that Metropolitan area that look like him and could act like him and do it for $100 game.

Its funny that he pushed the envelope so hard he is completely out of the picture now.

Thats painful and he must be regretting it big time lol

That's a very poor choice on his part. That was easy money. Since they were negotiating his contract, he probably could have gotten away with a smaller, fair increase in pay ... but he was, like you said, greedy.

The thing is that the team was getting a new stadium from another article, and he may not have been a good fit in the new stadium ... and the team administration may have been glad for an opportunity to lose him.

Context is everything considering I was responding to the last thing you said to me: "I'm growing weary of old age. I wish I could just end it all."

(I would have done it for free, but getting gas money out of the deal is just icing on the cake.)
