[FIXED] Is Anyone Here a MS Word Expert, or Know One?

I'm setting up a monthly newsletter and plan on using one of the MS Word (2010) newsletter templates.

All the dummy content is easy enough to replace with my own, but at the top is a graphic, which, try as I might, I cannot find any way to replace.

All the Word templates appear to be structured using a table as the base, and this graphic fills a cell. But unlike all the other dummy content (graphics and text), it seems somehow to be fixed by programming.

I've Googled various combinations of this question, but can't find a solution.

The original template is in a .DOT format. I've tried saving a copy as .DOC, but that doesn't help at all. I'm tearing my hair out and would appreciate some help before I end up completely bald . . .

A similar question came up recently and I spent around 20 minutes researching. The best answer I found is a possibility, not a certainty: use Mail Merge with a field in your header or at the top of the page, and that's how you substitute in the graphic.

Anne,

I am certainly NO word expert, but it DOES have a special header and footer margin, and some have OTHER margins. THEY are SEPARATELY editable. If you don't edit them as what they are, you may not be able to change them. This allows you to have like a virtual letterhead that is created AS you print. Of course some graphics simply have a format you can often change with a right click, and they can be "anchor"ed.

  The header contains a title banner which I can edit no problem.
  
  This body of the newsletter is a table and this darned graphic is located in the top right cell.
  
  All the remaining cells, some containing dummy text, some containing dummy graphics are all easily editable.
  
  I've dredged through various Microsoft Word blogs and forums and posted this question on them, but so far -- nothing. I've asked a few suppliers on Fiverr who claim to be MS Word 'experts', but none of them can help.
  
  So . . . I've begun a different approach. I'm trying to build my own newsletter template, although I have very little experience with tables in Word.
  
  One way or the other, I'll get there in the end

Frankly, Riffle, you disappoint me.

What is it about Mideast peace that makes you think I won't be finished and sitting on the couch in 17 whole days?

I've raised children. I'm sure this will be just like that. A few bitchslaps, a few timeouts, a little crying, and before you know it everyone will be doing the hora together.

  The image was somehow embedded into the background of the table cell. I simply deleted the cell it was in, then created a new one in its place.
