    WOW! But it would probably take over a minute just to SET the pointers. It would take FAR longer for them to propagate. Ironically, Google would be one of the SLOWEST to propagate, becuase so many have used it.

    His run of Google.com was short-lived though. Google Domains canceled the sale a minute later, saying someone had registered the site before he could, and refunded Ved the $12 that had already been charged.
    Horse puckey. If they did, they would have had it registered and they couldn't have cancelled a sale. They stole it back ;/

    It'd have been funny if he played hard ball. Just saw they doubled his reward for charity. That could have been fun. ;D

      The only garbage I see is that the FULLY legal way to do this is:

      1. Get an AVAILABLE domain.
      2. AUTH the charge! If it fails, the customer must try again. NO money is withdrawn, but they DO lose credit.
      3. Register the domain. At this point, the registrar, and google is NOT really a registrar, would REFUSE the registration! If the registration is refused, the customer must try ANOTHER.
      4. If the customer has the product/service, CAPTURE the charge, and THIS is where the customer pays.

      LATER, generally minutes at best, the customer points the domain.
      LATER, and it may be a while, the domain is resolved.

      Frankly, I don't see how they could ever have had the domain, unless it was in a table of ones google had, and they merely enabled it under the buyers account, but that would be all the worse.

    Say he DID manage to get it. The UDRP DEMANDS that he give it back, and he would have to.

    SERIOUSLY though, do you think he could get people to trust it as google? If I found their search engine suddenly degraded, I would go somewhere else. None of the login code through 3rd party sites should be able to work. The advertising stuff shouldn't work.
