Do We Finally Have Proof Of Aliens?

An article posted today on Live Science strongly indicates that evidence of alien structure(s) may have been discovered.

"Aliens should always be the very last hypothesis you consider, but this looked like something you would expect an alien civilization to build," Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University, told The Atlantic.
"We'd never seen anything like this star," Tabetha Boyajian, a postdoctorate researcher at Yale University and lead author, told The Atlantic. "It was really weird. We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but everything checked out."

Maybe, just maybe, we may finally get some indisputable proof.

Boyajian and Wright have now teamed up with Andrew Siemion, the Director of the SETI Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley, to get a radio telescope to listen into the star and if they detect an artificial signal, they will request time on the Very Large Array (VLA) to deduce whether any radio signals from that star are the chatter of an alien civilization.

Gee, two "told you so speeches in a short space of time", cool!

No, real surprise, Hubble detected a huge cigar shaped object near Saturns rings, which was in orbit.

But when the probe got there it had vanished.

Pretty obvious that aliens exist, and pretty obvious that stupidity is infinite!

Only a matter of time before it finds a cheap version of a Dyson's Sphere, around a star.

It isn't even evidence. Of the hundreds of ways the information can be interpreted, one of those ways is that it's an artificial construct. There is no more evidence that this idea is true, than any other idea. The data just shows something in an irregular orbit, and an irregular shape. An asymmetrical asteroid is far more plausible.

Evidence isn't conclusive, but it's a darned good start. The sound wave monitor will provide the proof/disproof. Something we should keep an eye on. Sooner or later we're going to find some life forms - no telling if we will be the advanced species or whether they will at this point.

Right now we have scientists trying to determine if there are microbes on Mars - and fossils. Even if all we find is fossils, we have to concede to the long held debate about whether we are alone. If this probe turns up artificial sound waves, we will not only have to concede that we are not alone - but that we might not be the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I love this era of technology. Sure - kids with their noses so glued to Ipads that they need to be surgically extricated from their palms is kinda a bad thing -- but we are finding out so much about our world and universe. There are surprises every day.

Archaeology is taking leaps and bounds, finding new settlements and artifacts, and pushing back the time frame of modern human intelligence, and the scientific understanding of the ancients.

Paleo-geologists, climatologists, paleontologists, are making discoveries that show us how our ecosystems and earth work together in a delicate web of life.

Space science and physics is a daily trip into the twilight zone.

I LOVE living in the era I do. It doesn't matter to me what they find...........the fact that we can actually find it is incredible.

Nonsense, if you recently ran into someone, who downed a dodgy bottle of shampagne, and are currently pregnant with an evil squid, then it would probably want out more than in.

And the rule the earth thing, (goes without saying).

Yes, this is what years of watching Youtube P**p does to you; well, that and having good Photoshopping skills, and being p***d about how much crap there is on tv!

I do a video like this, and the company that distributes or creates this stuff will watch the video, and usually slam it, then you slam back with Common law trivia, and bob is your uncle.

Either way it is a bit like flagging a banner at them, or saying bring back some f**** decent shows, and you wouldn't lose market share, duh!

No, we have proof of nothing.

Evidence something that doesn't match researchers' expectations, yes.

    That's it.

This isn't the first time an event like this has happened. When quasars were first encountered, some people freaked out thinking they were evidence of aliens.

Turned out nope, just another natural thing.

Which this will probably turn out to also be.

The overall experience of high technology civilizations encountering low tech civs, such as the Spanish and the Incas or European explorers running into indigenous peoples, has not been very good for those on the lower end of the scale. Maybe we shouldn't be in such a rush.

Actually Quasars and Pulsars have something that would indicate, at first look, that they were evidence of aliens. They emit perfectly timed bursts of light. With Pulsars, it can be several times a second. At least there would be some initial justification for speculation.

This case is nothing more than an irregularly shaped object. Either a shattered planet, or a meteor. There is no indication at all that it's artificial.

Speaking of irregularly shaped objects, has anyone heard from Riffle? I'm a little concerned.
