  • Thanks for puttin' me straight there — I figured dollarydoos were some kinda performance indicator for enema clinics.

If it's going to be the same old fiat currency we all are stuck on now - really doesn't matter what you call it. It won't be able to reflect the idiocy of the world allowing World Bank currency and ownership.

another piece of evidence social media and internet viral tendencies is dumbing the world - 5,000 petition is not Aussies getting behind anything and even the 30+ thousand cartoon fans after it made news isn't either - not when a country has 23 million.

The biggest problem with social media is the traditional media use it to drum up a story on a slow news day

If you read the comments that people who signed the petition have left, you'll see that it's been taken as a joke.

No it doesn't change your point. However blaming social media for the dumbing down of the world is like blaming FoxNews for MSNBC. Traditional media has been dumbing the world down for decades.

You might also like to consider why oppressive regimes around the world are banning social media.

Total malarkey Media goes with whats popular. If people wanted smart stuff thats what they would cover. Basic marketing. People tend to get sucked into what other people think is fascinating. A few decades ago there still was investigative journalism becaue people would watch. People started going all gaga after kittens on youtube, whose fighting on twitter and media followed down that path because it couldn't compete with issues based shows. Look what goes viral - ton loads of stupid stuff. Suits see the numbers and follow the crowd.

Social media ends up giving a platform to expand stupid things. Very rarely does anything smart or deep go viral. asking media outlets to overlook that and the numbers attached as evidenced by social media is a losing proposition

As are most things there. Apparently, Oz scientists have just released news that they've managed to successfully cross an 18yr old virgin with a musical instrument - and created a didgeridont.

The reason Jesus wasn't born in Australia* is that they couldn't find three wise men or a virgin.

*You can substitute Australia for Canada, America, Britain, France or any country you want.
