Ha!

I was just getting up from sitting Indian Style without using my hands as I always have since I was just a little thing, but this time something went wrong!!

I sprained my left foot and tore 3 ligaments in it!

Yep, I did it last Friday and have been off work this past week...stuck on the couch...unable to go up the stairs to my computer with these dang crutches. It really sucks but at least I read 4 new novels, lol!

I have to stay off it this weekend and go back to work Monday wearing this really ugly black boot thing for another two to three weeks.

I am going to hubby's birthday dinner tomorrow night though, doctor's orders be darned!!

So, I have to say it yet again...

I'm back!!

Sorry to hear that, you are going beyond fair wear and tear it would seem so you should actively be seeking a donor body.

    Glad your "Back" again.

Ever heard of one of these new fangled things called a wireless laptop? I hear they are quite portable.

I have and I have one. The thing is that I don't have a clue where it is. I haven't seen it since we moved. I'm supposing it's probably in a box in the pole barn.

I keep thinking I'll find it when I start unpacking to decorate for Christmas. LOL!

Way to go, Grace. You couldn't get them to give you a pink bootie?

Haha! I actually did ask, lol!

But they told me they don't make them in pink, just black and navy blue, but the hospital only had the black. =(

      • Tearin' stuff usually requires some kinda force.

If you got up normal then I don't see where the force gonna come from.

Sure, if you'd sprung up like a cat, done somethin' artsy, mebbe you coulda pulled a muscle.

Only other way to work that kinda force is sittin' for too long an' gettin' stiff without realizin'.

I done that a few times, an' got up with the grace and supple of a baby gazele whacked in the mooshy by a dump truck, even when I had a chair.

Least you're crammin' in the fiction, you got a party, and no bones're broken.

Just gotta wonder who got the other boot in the pair.

        Sounds kinda Vader.

          Yep!

Was sitting Indian Style for over an hour and my foot was numb. It was the foot that was on the floor, not over top.

Do you know what I meant when I say I got up without using my hands?

That's just standing up, sort of unfolding as you get up.

Anyway, I think because my foot was asleep and numb, it didn't work like normal and that had something to do with it. I didn't feel the injury, any pain at all, until after I had taken a few steps. Then it was like *^#%*, @*&$%#, Owie!!

            Yeah.

Here's what Yogi Nanak Choudury has to say about that in his 13th Century Scriptures of the Hallowed:

"Your legs are as a bird in flight,
            reaching out into the air,
            aglide over water.

Breathe life through your spirit heart to your feet,
give them grace to sing you into standing
as you rise to catch the bird inside you.

You bring gifts to the temple, bright Shiva,
and the masses throw garlands aloft
in honor of your quiet presence
ascending to the clouds in fullness of heaven.

So FFS don't be a jerk and fall down on your ass
or ur gonna look real frickin' stoopid."

Cute, but I prefer the doggie one. It reminds me of Lexi and how she responded to the whole thing.

She never leaves my side and just looks at me with those sad puppy dog eyes, bless her heart.

She is funny too. She tries to attack my crutches. They're metal and she growls and barks at them, then comes up and tries to bite one. She also tries to bite my black boot. I have to put it up high when I remove it or she'll tear it to shreds. I think that she thinks the crutches and boot are what is hurting me, lol!

                  Yep, and I will.

I'm no worse for wear though, so all's good. I love coming through stuff and still landing in a bed of roses.

I apparently am one tough cookie!

Hey, I wore one of those black boots for six weeks years ago. I went to my Christmas wrapping box and got out some ribbon and wrapped it around the whole boot and put a bow on the front!

Got lots of fun comments about people wanting to "unwrap" it!

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

Did you have to re-wrap it every day?

I'm not bathing and sleeping in the darn thing and there's no way I'm wearing the same sock for 2 to 3 weeks!

    You should borrow Claude's bubble-wrap . . . you're so accident prone.

Btw, you WERE missed. The OTF is dead enough already without losing another buddy.

Was on the verge of getting a search going . . .

      Awww!

How preciously adorable! And very clever, I might add.

      You've been missed as well.
