What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

    • What if the emotional thing is the rational thing to do?

In the scary movie example, mebbe there's a realo slasher in the theater comes at ya & emotional and rational point to the same conclusion: run!

Or lay the guy out and steal his popcorn.

Gotta figure you're gonna grow all sortsa links in there.

In its way, popcorn is kinda like a buncha freeze dried brains, so mebbe in the furure they'll figure more smart drugs to feed alla the different regions an' functions of the brain so we can skimp on the training.

No way am I havin' my brain on a leash jumpin' fences like a horse or boundin' thru hoops leke a frisko terrier.

      I am a grown up.

Taken together, these results provide validation for empathy being a multi-component construct, suggesting that affective and cognitive empathy are differentially represented in brain morphometry as well as providing convergent evidence for empathy being represented by different neural and structural correlates," the study said.
        WHAT!!!!

I wish someone would translate this gobblygook into human english?

Claude is rational to the point of being bitten by a duck, and rationalising it as something that bit him.

Or it quacks, blah, blah, but isn't a duck because ducks scare me!

        And it is NASA's fault!

As I misunderstand it, there are two primary types of empathy that actually occur in different regions of the brain.
          1. Affective empathy is primarily related to the frontal cortex of the brain and is pretty much an emotional response to another person's situation. For example, hundreds of brain scans have revealed that psychopaths tend to have lower functioning frontal cortexes.
          2. Cognitive empathy involves understanding how a person feels and responds to something but otherwise being disengaged, primarily occurring in areas of the brain away from the frontal cortex. Psychopaths often possess the ability to know how another person feels or would feel in a given situation, but are otherwise emotionally disengaged from it.

Claude's empathy only goes as far as when he sees a fellow doughnutter drop it on the floor. Anything beyond that, he is a cold, calculated assassin.

That figures. He does possess the looks suitable for a gangster role in an Al Capone movie, or perhaps Goodfellas or Wise Guys.

Ok, thanks, but l got the first one, just thought that it would get a few laughs?

Feels,... l doubt that a sociopath hacking into a victum, would really get how she feels, unless he got hacked and died as a child,.....hmmm.

Well, more likely he would believe that he knows, and as you have said, put it aside for the trill of the event.

The 1966 Alfred Hitchcock movie, "Rope" displayed the intellectual elite individual who took someone who he considered inferior for kicks.

It seems that some can do the sickest things imaginable and convince themselves that they are right!

For them, life in prison is the only way to keep a society safe.
