How exactly does golfing work? (Wow can I be more vague??)

My husband has always wanted to try it and I have absolutely no interest. He just said "Hey, let's go golfing sometime. You can hold the baby and watch me. Like a date."

(He's very romantic...")

I was like, "I don't think it works that way. I think you have to have a group of people" or at least one other person playing. And do you have to have your own clubs? And won't you just piss everyone off behind you if you've NEVER GOLFED and you're just screwing around trying to do it?

I mean, you might rule at golf on the Wii, but that's completely different from real golf.

Right?

Or am I wrong?

Love,
Shannon

    Hi

If you have never played before your best thing to do is find a friend who has and get them to take you to a driving range where you can get used to the clubs (most ranges will lend you a couple).

When you feel like you are ready go to a small par 3 course (no great distance involved), trust me you will get hooked.

If you want to know more PM me.

    Have fun

One of the most frustrating sports around ... because it truly is you against the golf
course. You may play as a group but no one can help you put that little ball in the ole.

If your are a spectator driving around in the golf cart drinking beer is always the best part.

Try it you might like it.

p.s. leave the baby at home ... nobody wants a fussy kid on the course .. though sometimes golfers act like that.

Our local golf club here requires written references from 10 different members to get in. Or you will have to pay more than US$1M for a company membership. There are even more expensive golf clubs around but none have the social status as the one I am talking about. Thankfully, I have lost interest in all this silly social climbing people a long time ago.

I know people who, once they have got into these clubs spend as much possible walking around in them just to show people that they have made it. I also know a doctor who have already got 10 reference letters from his friends for his daughter. Whereas a cousin of mine had to ask around for these references and had sometimes got rude replies.

The only 18 hole course opened to the public in Hong Kong would require you to spend at least US$100 for a day's play. The truth of the matter is that many people who play golf do not enjoy the game, they only do it for social climbing.

I have started playing golf abit more now myself, when I first started I was awful (I am still no tiger woods!) But I do recommend going to a driving range and practicing and maybe even 3 or 4 lessons to get the basics right!

OOh i would have to have more time so that I can get better at my swing! Golf is something that I tried two years ago and kept at for about six months. Then my golfing partner moved to another state so I didnt really feel motivated to golf alone after that.
