Ok, I know it's a scam somehow - I just don't see how they *make* money on it...
Then he says he wants me to build him a website. Then I ask him (all via text) what town he's in. He says he's in Illinois. I DO have craigslist ads for website design -- but I am on Maui -- so how did this guy in Illinois *find* me??? -- 2nd red flag.
Then he texts me a complicated plan to "pay me." It includes the words "Wells Fargo." 3rd red flag.
I told him to email me a CLEAR description of the "plan" to pay me.
Here's what he wrote...
The favor i need from you is. i would give you my card info's to charge for $4000,plus 5% credit card charge fee,so $1850 would be a deposit payment for my website design and the remaining $2150 you would help me send it to the project consultant that has the text content and the logo for my website so once he has the $2150 he would send the text content and logo needed for my website to you also the funds would be sent to VIA him HIS BANK ACCOUNT which is Wellsfago Bank, your sending of funds would be after funds clear into your own account and also $100 tip for your stress,Hope to hear from you soon.
Let me have your cell number and also which info do you need from my card to be charge for the total sum..

Now, what's the scam, and how do they end up with money?
Is he asking me to use a stolen credit card, and give some of the money to him?
I'm just curious to find out what the scam is. (no, I'm not gonna do what he says).
