Trouble with FF

My firefox just updated and it won't show me videos on many sites - and I can't click drop down boxes. It did the same thing the last updtae and I was able to finally fix it but can't remember how. Anyone have a suggestion for me?

    Have you tried updating the Adobe Flash Player plugin - plugins aren't updated when FF updates.

    Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

    My FF has had problems with some video sites telling me I need to update Flash despite having the latest version installed. For those sites I use Chrome with no problems

    Wrong. I can get drop boxes now - but still no videos on websites. I get Youtube if I go straight to youtube and don't try watching on a website.

    My flash is fine = it's FF that's messed up. I can also use my chrome for videos - but this really ticks me off. Every damned time FF updates the problems get worse and worse. After a decade, I'm considering whether I even want it anymore at all .

      Yes, had this crap on and off for years, and eventually disabled firefox from updating.

      It eventually had kittens, and l had to let it.


      Sal, l would suggest going into add ons, (tools-add ons) then click on the little cog up top and click on Check for Updates.

      If that doesn't fix it, then disable any add ons that you don't use, or don't use most of the time, or can live without.

      Odd's on one of these or more are stuffing things up?


      At least that is my experience when FF goes on a bender?

        Sal, I had to fix this just moments ago. Try this:

        Go to FF Plugins (under Add-ons).

        Find Shockwave Flash. Select Options. Uncheck Enable Adobe Flash protected mode.

        If Shockwave Flash doesn't show under your FF Plugins, you'll need to download and install it (even if you think it's already installed).
