I am a financial analyst with experience mostly working in the Middle East and Europe. I would like to immigrate to Canada but have would really like to find a job in advance so I am preparing applications to send to some companies. Any suggestions what to really focus on in these applications?

Contact Immigration Canada first to find out rules. No good if promised Job and they won't let you in.You may be waiting a while as they are letting in 25,000+ refugees so immigration may take a while.

If your well educated with papers/degrees in your field and through a headhunter if you can get a large corporation to sponsor you for their company might be able to help you.Even getting here temp visa through them is a good start.I know my brother has done it from Canada to Bermuda and Caymans.6 years Bermuda, then 6 years Caymans now back in Bermuda only can stay 6 years as their expac rules.
Worth a look try a headhunter they may know of companies.
