It's Munchie's Birthday!

Remember my guy, Munchie?
When he went into congestive heart failure this spring it was my greatest hope when I found I didn't have to put him down that he would make it through at least most of the summer.

He's 12 today - one ripe old age for a Rottie. We celebrated it splashing around in the creek because it was too hot to do anything else. Tonight we'll head out to the open spaces and watch the meteors fall. We've done most of what I hoped he'd be here to do with me this summer - but as long as he's still shuffling on beside me there will still be more.

Something went very right that I got to see this birthday with him.

Sometimes ya just can't help but feeling a little blessed.

Sal - So glad you were able to have this summer. I know things have been rough and having him with you has to make the days brighter.

Give him a pat for me!

      Happy Birthday, dear Munchie!

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

LOL Dave. Munchie wouldn't watch it all the way through. He's such an ornery old koot. Bad as an old human man.

Kay - Yeah, he's kept me centered. - And just after I get my site back online and the affiliate program up and ready to advertise it, another virus strike. The server is cleaning up the site and moved it to a different machine but it's taking time I can't afford right now. At this rate I'm going to be hiring out and writing articles again. But my dog is here to watch me cuss about it, LOL.

Holy cow - now I have a wet screen from both sides. Uh...thanks...I think.

Gee Pat - when I showed Munch that pic, he belched pretty rudely. Not sure if that was from the steak he just got or if it was an editorial comment.

Cripes - this fuss is all about my DOG - can you imagine what a basket case I'd be if I had kids? LMAO.

He's the first guy I've had that got this big and people never quit saying AWWWW. Most puppies change their appearance as they get older - he never did. He looked just like this when he was 10 weeks old and I brought him home. Hahahahaha. God I've never seen a cuter puppy than this one.
The day I got him I drove 5 hours to see two litters of Mastiffs and Munch's litter. I got to the rotties first. There was this little short pickett fence around their pen and when I drove in, 10 little heads came up over the rim of the fence. If I'd had a camera, that pic would have made it on calendars. I knew right then and there that I had my 3rd rottie instead of a mastiff.

Thom - you should see how white his face is getting. I spent a lot of time trying to get some white off from around his eyes then realized it's grey fur, LOL. Other than that, he actually looks better than he did when you knew him.

Aw!! happy birthday munchie!! I have a labrador named crypto and he is my absolute baby! I dont think I would know what to do if something bad happened to him. I feel like we have this unspoken bond, He wakes me up with kisses every 5 am, would you believe he hasnt failed in that for a year now? I love that whatver i do he always manages to scoot into my bed and sleep beside me.

LOL Mike - what the hell is that little thing? According to the size of the foot beside him, he's not as big as Munchies head - unless those are some HUGE feet. It takes a full foot of measuring tape to go around Munchies Muzzle alone - that's just a tad under 1/3 meter. I can wear his collar as a belt, but have to put an extra notch in it because his neck is near 25 inches, around 2/3 meter.

Is your new kid full grown or is that a puppy (or maybe a new breed of hamster)?

Spaniel Kay? Are there spaniels that small? I thought something that miniaturized would be of a terrior breed or something. I hope Mike comes back to tell us more about her.
I'm still curious if it's full grown.

We kept pooch's original name of Angel ... seems to suit her.

She is an adult Cavalier KC spaniel 3.5 years old and quite
small as they go .... around 14" high and 14lbs weight.
Fit as a fiddle according to the Vet with no specific
Cavalier issues or other ones .... and waaaay tooo cute.
Sooo cute, she cured a couple of the local kids of their
dog phobia after an attack by their family GSD.

Just back from an hours walk through the local woods.
      Great little pooch
