I don't know HOW they can do this. They STRUGGLED to get one computer down to $25. They apparently did THAT by using a LOW END ARM with what TODAY is LIMITED memory, and built it through HIGH CAPACITY state of the art automation, and used BULK stuff purchased at possibly below retail. This DOES, after all, help companies like ARM by expanding the market and creating more people to buy at a higher cost. ARM might now be the LEADER in micro processor design sales, and licensing. The PREVIOUS clear leader was INTEL.

If you have any computer based on a google OS, or a computer costing less than $200, or a laptop, or cell phone, or an IoT device(Like that in many cars, refridgerators, etc...), or some microcontroller, it is likely ARM.

Anyway, I don't know HOW they got it down to THIS price. To put this in perspective, the APPLE II was designed to use the CHEAPEST processor at the time, and the retail price of that CHIP was about what this new computer cost. I once sold about 64Kilobytes of RAM to a person, and she paid, IIRC about $16, in the 1980s. And THAT was a GOOD price!

OH, and this new computer is based on a version of a system made to work like the high end systems in the 1970s that was SO good that even companies like IBM and Oracle use it on their high end systems today. I kept trying to find a good price, but it cost over $1000, and finally did help my first IT employer get a special deal for $450.

OK, watch THIS!

I was reading about this earlier on Google News.

I'll be running Windows 10 on my toaster & keep Twitter & Facebook updated when the toast is {toasting|toasted|burnt}.

My oven is still running Windows 7, but when I'm using the meat thermometer, I get a better WIFI signal. If I put my tinfoil hat on, I can hear Nebraska!

My Windows 10 dryer buzzer can finally play RUN DMC Sucker MC's MP3 when the laundry is done. I'll need to hook up a woofer & amp.
