HOW LONG must I wait to get my suspended Hostgator account back?

I signed up with them the other day, everything went smoothly, I got cpanel access, I set up wordpress on my site, installed themes, plugins.. then when I go to check my site a while after, they say it has been suspended, and I got an email asking to verify it with my photo ID and credit card photos. I sent them the photos yesterday, and they still haven't reactivated it.

Exactly how long should I expect to wait? days, weeks?

Time is limited after all.

You could just call their customer support number: 1-866-96GATOR; any response here will likely be speculation.

(Btw, took me less than five seconds to Google that number...amazing thing, that Google!)

I've done that many times, and all they can tell me is they can't give me an estimate on how long I should wait. Helpful people.

Tell them to refund your account and you are going elsewhere.

I spent a good month last year researching and debating on where I was going to shift myself to.

Lots of research based on personal preferences. Luckily I got in during black friday as well - but that's not to say there won't be more end of the year specials going on. A year later, and I'm still very happy where I wound up.

But my reasons for where I went and why I wound up there could be very different for what you need - or think you need.

Go and spend some time on webhostingtalk. You won't need to make an account to just read the posts.

Also, make a list of what you expect out of a host and figure out the best budget that isn't too skimpy.

At the very least if you decide to stay longer where you are, I'd make sure they credit you for the non uptime you are having as your sites are not up.

This happened YESTERDAY - and you've "called many times"??

The time difference could be 8-9 hours - that's one factor. They are verifying your ID and I wonder if multiple calls from you might slow it down.

Didn't you post recently trying to buy "more" pinterest accts because your accts were being banned? When told the accts can't be bought/sold you wanted to know how to get around that...

Could it be HG actually verifies the info it asks people to send? What it asked is not unusual - but your impatience seems a bit much. As of a few days ago you posted you did not have a website - so what's the rush?

If two hosting services have asked for docs - chances are others will do the same. Might be best to give it a day or two - stop pushing and see if the process works itself out.

A person can only wait so long without getting impatient.
One day? and multiple calls in that time?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

You didn't indicate that in your post, so my apologies for assuming you hadn't called. We get tons of threads here by people asking this and that about PayPal and other companies who don't seem to realize that they need to direct their questions to the company itself.

Even if someone here has had their account suspended, the amount of time may be very different for you than it was for them depending on various factors.

And I agree with Kay, you just sent the required documents yesterday and you're expecting everything to be resolved today? I know you're eager to get things back up and running, but 24 hours is a bit premature to expect everything to be fixed. A lot of companies are slow when it comes to things like this - and you may run into the very same problem with the next hosting company if you switch.

Nobody hear freaking knows how long it will take. They may do it in a day or never do it. Email support or call again. We're not Hostgator support.

Certainly not. I just thought it might be something like a review site of Claude's "movies", something no hosting company wants on their servers.

Ok - you got the answer you are looking for....of course, there's not way to know if the person answering knows a kumquat from a banana...but it's an answer...

                    see the problem?

If you mean your sites are "payday loans" and "selling pharma" - both are highly regulated in the US so might be a reason for host to look closer. I could be wrong about that - but wouldn't surprise me.

I have never figured out why people complain about Hostgator support, they have been almost instant support for me (years) & always solved any problem.

My guess is I'm the only person on the internet that knows about Hostgator Live Chat support.
