So what is It?

Malvertising is when hackers buy ad space on a legitimate website and, as the name suggests, upload malicious advertisements designed to hack site visitor's computers. Sites such as Daily Mail, Huffington Post, DrudgeReport, Forbes and Yahoo have all been recently compromised by Malvertising hackers. Through Malvertising hackers are able to infect thousands of computers for as little as $.30 of advertising costs!

Malvertising allows a hacker to infect your computer with Trojans, Exploit Kits and Ransomware without any action on your part. Simply by visiting a page where the hacker has paid to place an advertisement with malicious code, the ad will begin to run its routines and infect your computer. Hackers then use these infections to begin to steal your data, your personal information, your identity, your financial information, your clients data and information, your money and your clients money.

It is imperative in today's Internet-connected world that ALL businesses regardless of size take these types of Cyber Security threats seriously. To protect your business from this new breed of threats you need to keep all software on your computers up to date with the latest security patches. Software and plugins such as Windows, Office, Mac OS X, Chrome, Firefox, Reader, Flash, Java, AntiVirus, AntiMalware, etc... all need to be kept up to date on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. It is also imperative, beyond good AntiVirus software, to have solid solutions for AntiMalware, Spam Filtering and Content Filtering.
