Really? All that matters is what you think and then you're 'essence' reality will be intact. What I think doesn't really matter.

Well, Santa comes from German, pagan origins, and the west seeing a potential cash cow took it from there!

Apart from Santa giving out gifts, and the kids getting a kick out of it, there isn't much else to it?

Well, the family get together as well, well, as long they behave?

Similar to Easter, square peg in round hole!

I would say Christmas is about sharing, reflecting, enjoying. Oh, and of course Santa.

Mind you I wouldn't want THIS Santa coming down my chimney. He wouldn't fit anyway. Having said that, he looks a half decent Santa Claude but you'd probably only get left vacuum parts in your Christmas stocking. Riffle may get something a bit bigger.

To me, the spirit and essence of Christmas is to make the Winter far more profitable, if you own a retail store. It's also an opportunity to get together with relatives that you avoided successfully for an entire year.

You also are forced to buy things you normally would never buy, and give them to people you normally don't give gifts to.

But the joy, the real joy, is for people across the world to be reminded that other people can afford great gifts, and you cannot. You are reminded that others have huge families that love them, and you do not.

To guarantee that you don't forget this, nearly every store, business, and restaurant is closed. It's a way to force you to be alone, without even the fantasy that you have a family that wants you to be with them.

It's also a way to separate Christians from the millions of people in the other 1,500 "one true religions", and atheists.

And you get to see plenty of decorations, displays, signs, dioramas, and hear songs...but just from one religious faith. All the others are ignored.

And, last but not least, if you work in a store that plays music, you get to hear the same 25 songs...on a loop...for a month.

And I still can't say, out loud, in my town that I'm not a Christian...without my business being decimated.

My wife, on the other hand, is now busy making Christmas cookies, great ones, and has the entire home decorated with 3 Christmas trees (so you can see a tree, no matter where you look into the home), she invites her large family to our home for a great dinner on Christmas, she loves every minute of it.

And she's a devout Christian. And it makes her happy, and so I put up with the nonsense.
And I own a retail store, so really my customers are paying for it all. We are having a record December.

And none of the things I said above, ever pass my lips anywhere but here.

"Spirit of Christmas" (The original South Park concept that was commissioned as a holiday video card by a Hollywood person (rumored to be George Clooney but since debunked) who after receiving it realized he couldn't actually send it out to people, so he ended up with a thousand VHS tapes that we would show to his friends and family).

As a child I looked forward to it, The decorations, the parties, the giving and receiving of presents, eating a British Christmas dinner, watching the Queen's speech followed by the Bond film.

Now, it's: The college I work for closes for 2 weeks so time off, I give only 2 gifts out, one nice one to the wife and a stupid one to some silly, slightly impoverished friends of ours. The first year we exchanged gifts I got from them (mainly the husbands idea) two pairs of broken sunglasses and some salmon, crackers and wine in a presentation package, that was three years out of date. The trashcan received my gift. We have responded in kind. It has become a tradition.

Most of my relatives are gone, aunts, uncles, grandparents. The joy's of getting older. Yet again, I am late sending out about 6 Xmas cards to the UK.

The wife put out some lights in the front yard and also a giant inflatable Christmas tree with flashing lights inside it.

I saw an infomercial for a laser light that covers your house with a projection of multicolored Xmas lights, so impressed, I bought it. Wow, it works so well, even puts lights on the trees. Next year, just get a few of them and saturate the house with this splendid illusion.

Xmas has immeasurably changed in expectation and belief since I was a child though. Most of the magic has gone, but the nostalga for it still lingers.

Truly, I think nostalgia is the right word for many.

As a child we didn't celebrate holidays, but I remember the lights on the homes at night, the music, some of the Christmas Specials on TV. There is something about it being cold outside, and toasty warm inside, that is homey.

I may have told this story before. If so, sorry.

My wife's parents were dear people that were poor. Every Christmas they would give each of their kids (all middle aged by the time I met them) an envelope with a twenty dollar bill inside.

One Christmas, as a joke, I took the card out of the envelope and slipped $200 in the card. I pretended that they gave us more money. Perhaps, thinking back, it wasn't as funny as I thought...

Anyway, my Brother-in-law (the other clown in the family) slipped $500 into his card. The next year, he had $1,000 and I had (i think) $2,000 in my card.

Looking back, he and I were really the only ones to laugh, but it was hilarious to us.

Contrast that with an Australian Christmas. Inside it's warm and toasty, and outside it's as hot as hell.

Although the forecast for Perth on Christmas Day this year is only 27C (around 80F). It might be the first Christmas in years I'll wear long pants instead of shorts, but probably not. Why fight tradition.

Similar to Easter, square peg in round hole!"

Well, I guess people can pervert it, etc... But Santa was NOT pagan! He was a monk, or bishop, apparently around the 3rd-4th century AD,in turkey of all places, that helped some people secretly. A story about him apparently even said that he once tossed some gold coins down a chimney, for a dowry, and they ended up in a stocking in the home and THAT started the stocking tradition. You have to remember this was BEFORE real overt commercialism, BEFORE stocks, BEFORE franchises, BEFORE chains, BEFORE TV, etc....

And the REAL story of Santa is a real believable one. It was a relatively small town and NOT the whole planet, and it wasn't on a particular day. The catholic church even SAINTED him! He didn't even do it all the time, though the dowry story tells of how the father came to expect it and caught nicholas in the act.

The TREE has pagan origins. The story there is that it dates back to celebrating the winter solstice. The catholic church wanted to get rid of pagan traditions. What they couldn't get rid of, they obscured through a repurposing, and the christmas tree is one example. Easter is another. The german song, "o tannenbaum" means, and translates as, "Oh Fir Tree". It basically is a cheerful song of admiration about how the tree, an "evergreen" lives through, and blooms in, even the dead of winter when it is snowing. "O tannenbaum" has been REWRITTEN in english as "Oh christmas tree" It is similar, but still more christmassy.

Of course, things HAVE changed. The story of the REAL santa, who apparently looked like a real bishop earlier, morphed over time, and I believe Coke has been credited with his current look. The original idea of the deer and all, at least as far as names, apparently came from a poem in the 19th century. and rudolph is credited to a montgomery ward's coloring book!

The late adoption of all this explains the different looks and customs around the world. Santa is pretty much international, even if all the specifics aren't.

As for having kids behave, that might work if this were a 100% moral world. Kids know it wasn't, and it used to be more than it is now. We're lucky it hasn't all burned up yet.

I think Christmas is about family. It is a good time to meet with new and old friends, relatives, family members that you don't have time to get in touch during the year. And gifts.

    • Christmas is cool 'cos it pulls in a lotta people all at once.

You got the religious swing, the solstice, the last throw of the year before the new one, an' alla the shoppin'.

All have merit on their own, an' some mean more to people than others, but we are all caught up in the snuggo touchdown together.

So evrythin' stops all at once.

One at a time, we drop into the succulence of the festival, touch base with family an' friends, suspend our regular lives in stasis, and do hella hearty stuff.

It all cranks up again from here after Winter's chill, thinkin' about the Spring to come insteada the one jus' fell off the Fall.

So I got some treats lined up, some cool gifts to give out, an' I have been preparin' my abdomen for myriad immodesties.

For me Christmas has always been a wonderful period of time.

I always remember when I was studying, going to Christmas parties.

Than that turned out to be business Christmas parties when I was working in the city, with even more fun and good times.

Nowadays, since I have my own business and work from home, it is all about family Christmas parties and great time with my 5 year old son. So bottom line, Christmas time is one big party and good times.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

NONSENSE!!!! Yep, some of it is!

I personally don't get the singing in church stuff, and l believe in most of it!

And for the record most religions have some truth to them, and i'd better not say anymore?

Xmas carols in shopping centres is fine, just as long as Mariah Carry isn't in there! And they stop playing that "Giddy up one", always make me cringe!

Suzan... and people have been going around stealing deliveries from people's porches. The frenzy of Christmas shopping, and how the holiday has become so commercial and all about getting stuff makes people resort to theft, if they are unable to provide Christmas for their families.

A friend of my brother's was in Charlottesville Sat with all 3 children and wife shopping in an upscale shopping center. Their truck wouldn't start. He approached several men about a jump and was treated like dirt under their feet, or like he was just going to try to harm them in some way. He called me and I went to rescue the family and bring them home. Obviously, people's spirit of giving and helping others doesn't include anyone outside of their families and friends.

So Christmas to me is about a lot of things. It's about door buster sales that turn humans into shopping animals capable of pushing, shoving and trampling people to get at a TV, it's about people with no means to provide presents and food and shelter, and it's about the joy of watching some children who still believe in the magic of Christmas. It's also about a few who really seem to "get" Christmas and go out of their way to do something nice for others who are in need.
Yep, nail on the head, Susan...Aussies, or guilty time poor parents will be buying, almost $800 dollar Hoverboards, for their kids, as a way to say sorry, l had to work weekends, etc.

The Xmas spirit is becoming diluted here!

Christmas is all about getting presents and hopefully receiving more than you gave. Otherwise it would be a pretty stupid holiday don't you think.

I always work it out on boxing day. If I received more overall dollar value than the gifts I gave, then I won Christmas!

Well, I'm not religious and I have always celebrated Christmas. Christmas is what you make it and for our family, as the kids were growing up, it was about the big Christmas Eve dinner and giving gifts to each other and the gorgeous decorations and doing for others. A feel good holiday.

My children are grown now. I go to their houses for Christmas. I eliminated the dinner at my place, the decorations and the gifts for adults. I buy for my 7 grandchildren only and my children do not buy for me. We made a deal to help eliminate the financial stress from Christmas with an ever growing family.

It's about the kids to me and always has been. There's nothing quite like seeing the excitement build up until Christmas and then the big day comes and they can open the presents. I still enjoy seeing children's faces light up on Christmas. I love seeing my grandchildren sneak down the steps very early on Christmas because they can't sleep and want to see if Santa has come yet.

But Christmas makes me sad too. I think about all the children that don't have presents and don't have decorations and big meals on Christmas or any other day. I think about the people who are homeless.

I think about what Christmas does to some people ... just read a Craigslist post titled "To the Grinch Who Stole Christmas"
and it was addressed to whoever stole all of the presents from a house or car (didn't say). It was posted by someone obviously struggling to provide family and children with a nice Christmas, but will now have to do without the presents because they can't afford to buy them twice.

... and people have been going around stealing deliveries from people's porches.

The fact that you know that says you been experimentin with the chemistry set too much, better get you something more traditional like milk (aint nothing wrong with chocolate either look closely in the club might see some Nestle's to add in the mix) where you can get invited to the island to meet mom and pops with no stakes in hearts. Maybe you'll pick up a wedding crasher too even if the tucked shirt don't work out

Right now it's about the spiked egg nog chilling in the fridge for consumption - possibly this evening. But will need to position the timing on it as I'm on some penicillin and need to wait 2 hours in before any dairy consumption. It's about how I've felt like crap the whole past weekend, and then today had to go out for some final xmas stuff and the traffic sucked up a good 2 hours of my errands - of which said errands would have normally been all done within an hour. I was out for a good 4 and had next to nothing in my bags upon returning home.

It was about me feeling feverish in the car while driving around, and yet being nice enough to let other cars get out of packed parking lots (jumping in front of me) and onto the highway parking lot.

It was about me standing in the check out line at the crafts store, then going into a massive coughing and hacking fit, scrambling for a cough drop in my purse, then eyes watering and non stop coughing while I struggled to unwrap the halls wrapper. And noticing those directly in front of me and behind me in the long shopping line drift away from my close proximity.

Upon arriving at the check out, the gal asked me How Was I? And I said, I survived the coughing fit in line, so things were looking up. And she encouraged me to feel better soon.

So yes, I took her advice and hit the liquor store on the drive home. Home being where I'm at this week, but it's not my house.

Remembering last year going to visit my mother in the loony ward, who had no idea it was even xmas, and still not realizing my dad had just passed. That trip was a teary eyed disaster where mom was sitting in the main lobby with a room full of other loons. Some smart person had "Oh holy night" or some flipping sad ass xmas dreary elevator radio station on and I could do nothing more than excuse myself to go outside and just get what ever out of my system while waiting for my brother to finish the visit with her.

I toil over if I should send my ex of 14 years a holiday card as the breakup is fresher than milk from a cows teets. I did muster up the energy to send his mom a nice card, with a letter enclosed that we were no more and be sure to remove me from any beneficiary documents that may have been prepared - which I was told existed but never saw any proof of.

I have yet to drop some xmas stuff to my own mother this year. Oh joy. Last year she at least still recognized us where as this year we are all complete strangers. Not that it was ever the prized mother daughter relationship like those flaunted on hallmark movie channels and such.

Florida sunshine cures some things, yet totally f's with my head as I've spent the majority of my winters in the north and the warm weather down here is nice and disturbing at the same time. i have secret fears of alligators barreling through the yard and attacking me.

I'm not confident the eggnog will taste the same in 80 degree weather as it does when it's 30 or so outside when the booze factor is necessary to warm one up a bit.

So for this year that is what MY Christmas is really all about.

                        Thanks for asking.

Jill, sounds like you've had one heck of a year - or at least past few weeks or months. I hope you get well soon and have a really nice, relaxing Christmas - and a much better 2016!

                            And enjoy the eggnog!

Actually had a similar situation but not a parent so that must be even worse but what we found is there was no way to have a positive visit in that environment so we arranged to at least get her outside for the visits. In many of those places you just can't tune out whats going on around and it does nothing but create a horrible memory, IF we could get her away even to the car there we could at least have an adult to child relationship - which is all you can get that maintains the family feel.

sometimes you might get a reaction like a smile or expression that says hey theres still some of her left in there and that wasn't bad but those wards inside you get almost nothing but pain.

                          Hope ur OK, Jill.

Christmas has a way of magnifyin' stuff, so if you have things to contend with, I feel for you.

But Christmas is also cool, an' that eggnog mebbe gonna work some magic.

Also, gotta think that alligators are like Christmas trees on legs.

They are green (ish), broadly triangular (ish), an' when they snap their jaws their teeth flash like fairy lights.

They are so seasonal right now.

So -- best wishes for the duration of the festive.

Last year I had a breakup right before Xmas and still went and bought her, her daughters, her parents some presents. Felt good and I didn't regret it one bit. Was think of doing something this year also because I miss that family. They are just terrific people. However, decided against it. Time to move on. Hope you feel better. I just got over one of those damn colds myself. Almost lasted a whole month!

I did the breaking up. He texted me a couple of weeks back saying to not send anything or it would get a return to sender on it.

Some people can remain friends after a breakup and some can't. I'm still friends with my ex wife who I was with for 23 years. But this last one and another one that I almost married don't want any connection at all. Sucks when you get to know their family also, but that's life.

If it helps you can send presents to me Jill. I hate to think of you being sad. Should I furnish you with my wish list? That goes for anyone else who's not able to give this Christmas.

I have a feeling your 3 or so girfriends will have you covered.

Hope you are taking care of them all.

On another note, there is probably a market for the "I just broke up with you or you just broke up with me but here is your holiday card anyway" card.

NO Jill, far from it. On Monday one of my girlfriends came over and the presents she brought me SUCKED! I mean seriously, they were so bad. I had to do that thing where you try and look surprised and amazed but are really dying inside with disappointment.

Why can't women buy good presents! Women are SO cheap! That's not sexist, it's a fact!

Sounds like the universe is giving you back according to your deeds. I have NEVER ever been with any woman that gave me socks for Christmas. I got that once from my daughter at 5 years old but considering her income it was incredibly giving of her.

Perhaps you should get the other two girlfriends to club together with the third and get you something decent. I'm sure they would be open to it.

I can't remember one time I received anything of value from a girlfriend. The majority of men know fully well how bad it is.

For the rest of the year, the focus is on OURSELVES. What has it gotten most people? Anxiety, loneliness, feelings of having no purpose or meaning, depression, narcissism, equating identity with THINGS, etc. It's a mess.

I view Christmas as a RESET button for the mind (all levels: emotions, self-perception, perception of others, definition of personal reality, etc)

It reminds people to shift their mental framework from SELF to OTHERS.

This leads to (in the case of normal people) feelings of GENEROSITY, compassion, solidarity, and yes, happiness.

Above all else, Christmas reminds me that HAPPINESS, contentment and feelings of COMPLETION are CHOICES.

There's no one else to blame.

    It's all a choice.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone!

Thanks girls. I don't mean to whine. Truth be told there is a lot more going on top of it all.

But I'm digging my heels in and really just trying to focus on having a liberating new year.

I think the dust will settle by the end of the week and I can truly regroup.

"This too shall pass" That you can believe. Hang in there on the unavoidable facts of life stuff.

The New Year should be all about not creating new drama while the old drama is left behind to die.

And those who bring you drama? My phone has a off button, my txt messages can block numbers, and my feet can walk out of houses. I'm sure yours can too. The difference between me an most people is that I will hang up on anyone. My mother, my wife, my boss... anyone who is out of control. Let em cool off and try again later. And if all they want to talk about is that I hung up on them... guess what? I do it again.

Don't give up control of your own space!

And remember the 70's? "Don't let the turkeys get you down."

I figure 2016 is callin' out for a new bestsellin' self-help book to make The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People look like garbage.

    "Advice for the Misguided Harpy"

But hey, I got my subtleties.

So here is my plan for Christmas Eve Eve.

Today, I will invite more minimalism into my excessorials, maxin' out on shades, degrees an' inflexions.

As an exercise, I got sumthin' Belgian an' delicate in fronta me right now.

An' I am gonna leave it there.

    All day.

I got errands, last bit of work to catch up on.

But I am gonna leave it.

    Unignored.

Gonna keep comin' back to it.

Gonna return to run my eyes over its delicious curvature.

Gonna engage in phantom salivation, hit on the tongue equivalent of pelvic floor exercises, lie down on my Yoga mat an' dream of micromouthfuls in the void — with no danger of chokin' or vulgar messiness dribblin' from my lips.

Gonna make with this teaser of a plan all day long.

Gonna hold out like a penitent monk, right thru till nightfall.

Then I am gonna break out my chopsticks an' savor my Mikey Morsel till a warmin' smile tugs soft on my ears.

Prolly this gonna be an extra special early Christmas present.

They are saying funny things about you, Princess.

*Wrests self away from shimmerin' Belgian. Blinks.*

        Huh? What's going down?

Know what? In my All Seeing Oracle way, I haven't a clue.

But I can still feast out on the chocolate, right?

If you must, though it might be taken the wrong way in context.

        *Ulgh ulgh ulgh*

You can take chocolate the wrong way?

Princess, I do not take chocolate any way at all. I am an Oracle.

That Spanish for 'loser' or sumthin'?

Ahem. Returning to my original point—

        About the funny things?

        Indeed.

Yeah, so I read 'em while you were squintin' in that stoopid ball of yours, an' way I see it, I gotta slow down some, mebbe reflect on my sensitive side.

Preferably in a British woman's hat.

        Yeah.

        *mm-ulgh mm-ulgh mmmmm*

Pants not allowed? I figure we could pull 'em down while she wasn't lookin'.

No. It must be a hat. Think of it as a tastefully crafted brain restraint, filtering your vulgarity as a bag sifts essence of Earl Grey from dead leaf.

But I still get the pants also? I hear they are weaved by leprechauns from the finest unicorn fanjo fluff.

        Silk, actually.

Whatever. Hey, are you done now, cos I gotta savor my Christmas treat. Man, that was real nice.

        Aren't you forgetting something?

What? Did sumthin' dribble outta my mouth? I was bein' careful chewin', even while I was speakin'.

        **whisper whisper whisper**

Man, that is so rude of me.

Well, I've never bought a boyfriend a tie or a pair of socks, but I'm sure there are boyfriends that aren't worth more than a tie or a pair of socks.

This is what I bought my last boyfriend for Christmas

... and a star to go along with it.

          I KNEW IT!

Baby posts ONE of her gifts, but not the MOUNTAIN of gifts her man bought her!

No wonder she didn't ask for it back, she'd have had to give up all his gifts and it wouldn't take a super computer to work out those numbers!

I'm sure the numbers will look something like this..

                        Your spend on her, $500+

                        Her spend on you, $5-$49

That's how most women roll! There's only one person having a Merry Christmas in most households and it isn't us men. Am I right bros or am I right!
I think that you have it wrong, the relatives usually go for the socks, and sometimes disappointing gifts.

Your better half if she listens, will buy one of the presents you gave her on your list.

Sounds more like, your pretend girlfriends, are getting p*** about non-commitment, and are throwing socks about!

Or as senior members here you all can stop baiting and giving the mods work to do (like you and lanfear did talking about other messiahs in a Christmas thread no one else is allowed to. If you two hadn't started that up Discrat would not have responded).

It isn't Cartman. If you read his posts, with Cartman's voice, they are actually pretty funny. Although I only read posts mainly here and in the Offline Forum.

And it isn't Robert. Passionate though he is, he's fair minded.

It's the subject matter. One slip over the line, and the passions come out, and the real arguing begins. And that's the thread killer.

Sure, some of us a real arses. But we can usually keep that under control. There is a reason religion and politics aren't allowed. It really is impossible to keep that group discussion civil. We just can't stop ourselves.

We have proven that in literally every thread where it comes up.

nah you've proven this holiday you are quite fine with ignoring the rules when it suits but want everyone else muzzled. If you really held it had been proven in every thread and respected that you wouldn't have been back and forth joking about other Messiahs in a Christmas thread where anyone that puts up a wikipedia like Christmas definition gets blasted.

Wow, surprised this is still kicking, after that onslaught, but this forum is probably on skeleton staff, with most on Holidays, so....

But yeah, l agree, some here are 100% certain that they are right, or God is a myth, and the rest know that God does exist since some have first hand experience.

But if you start bringing up experiences, then it is sitestepped, forgotten or derailed. Or another silly thread is started taking indirect swipes at the person who posted the evidence?

So, l agree that mental instability comes into affect with some here who, cannot consider it!

For me l am good with visuals, so l have seen ghosts, most of the individuals out of the bible, deceased relatives, (well one) other deceased relatives, (apparently pink and black is in fashion up stairs) and the list goes on!

So l know that it is all real, but would l go for established religious dogma, not really.

I feel sorry in a way for individuals who hide behind science, and refuse to be open to this stuff; after all science has been 100% wrong on occasions?

They are only hurting themselves and others, but that is ok, they have the rest of eternity to get it!

I would rather get off this Groundhog Day nightmare while l can!

You guys know who this kind of talk attracts, and it always ends the same way...every time.

To the Mods. Please. please don't delete this thread. Could you just freeze it this time?
I think perhaps, at least in the past, we have got away with talking about general concepts about debating the existence of creators or deities, or ways of running economies as long as we don't attack specific religions or parties.

I hope that has not changed?.

                                  My friend;

It starts that way. Reasonable, civil discussions....without anger and posturing. And in some cases, this thread included, it can continue for quite awhile. But eventually, someone says the wrong word, and the less evolved of us make an appearance.

And the thread gets deleted or closed. Honesty, I can't remember an exception to this.

And it's always the same two or three. I didn't mean that you or Andrew were causing trouble. But your exchange is the kind that attracts the trolls like moths to a flame. You can already see the results here.

Yes we can. Mods have already deleted the post you supported. No need to whine about it. No back seat modding soapbox needed. Get over it and move on. its the more evolved thing to do.

Actually his 2010 book had some signs of senility. His conclusion of what you don't need once you have the laws of natures had just about every reviewer searching the pages for where he had solved that issue but lol he closes it without touching it

almost all reviewers were like what the?....lol...quite the bit of intellectual cowardice.....and then the book is essentially all about M- Theory a particular form of string theory that has been blasted pretty well by many scientists as unscientific

Hey, if there are necks goin', I wanna neck - even if I don't wanna neck.

If the necks are exclusive then I really want one.

She did not lavish me with wealth. FAR from it. All my gifts were in the "sock" ballpark. After she left I googled all my presents, she spent a "whopping" $125 in total.

Exactly who are you trying to kid? The newbs? I haven;t seen a thread down here ever where a theist talked about the "existence of creators" without the antis going bat crazy citing the rules. If I posted the opposite to your tirade against religion last page there would be gasping followed by spittle and foam. I think what happened is that many of you thought the rule was an anti theist rule rather than leave the freaking subject entirely off the board . A few anti thread sentiment threads have got deleted recently and now you know better.

If theres anything that "we should have got away with" as you are now claiming should be the case it should be someone saying what Christmas is as cited by an Encyclopedia but any one that has put that up has had that deleted and we all know its because the triangles have been hit. So lets not try and kid people here.

I find it funny that he is in three long term, uncommitted relationships and is trying to tell everyone here that, that is the best option!

Sounds more like his three women are getting tired of the "what does love got to do with it" attitude.

I figure line #1 is a product benefit grabbed from my minxily ironic promo leaflet.

Thus far, zero runnin' of soap has actually taken place in the imaginary shower cubicle of this thread (an' I am insistin' on a shower cubicle here cos it takes too long to run an imaginary bath jus' to prove a point, an' strippin' to wash my underarms at an imaginary sink means I also gotta first of all dress in an imaginary blouse an' bra to strip off, an' I got nuthin' clean that co-ordinates cos evrythin' is in the wash cozza Christmas, so f*ck that), an' even if it had, you gotta figure that my underarms would be devoid of any natural spice thanks to alla the showerin', so all we gotta figure now is how to get me over from the bathroom to the kitchen (where the strawberries an' chocolate flakes are at) without me drippin' water evrywhere, because my imaginary robe is in the wash with my blouses an' bras, an' all I have is the bedsheet I been usin' as a toga since Rome, which is in a cupboard in the bedroom, an' I figure even if I could go get that without drippin' all over the bedroom carpet also, an' even if it is actually there (because anythin' made of any kinda fabric is turnin' out to be imaginary right now), then the foamy soap bubbles gonna have lost all their foamy, thus defeatin' the object of the exercise.

So, yeah -- what was I supposed to be doin'?

I am tryin' to make with the Noo Year resolutions here, but people keep interruptin' me.

Hmmm, whatever odors you don't want in your nostrils gotta be so bad you wouldn't want 'em in your dogs' snouts either, less'n their trackin' capacity got spoiled, so I figure those pooches got Toblerone-shaped filters also -- prolly strapped on cos you would never nail or glue anythin' to a dog's nose.

So all I gotta do is figure out WHAT odors you are tryin' to filter, an' I can spray it on my Black Widow costoom an' creep past the dogs, usin' my soap squished into a ball as a decoy.

Gotta tellya, if the Government is involved here, this could mebbe be a NASA operation, so sumthin' Martian gotta be involved.

Mebbe NASA is monitorin' how sprout fart gas travels on the Red Planet an' they--

dammit, Anthony -- have you kidnapped Matt Damon an' set fire to his hair?
Don't worry Mat Damon will science the s*** out of trying to put it out?

As for the rest, apart from NASA three starships, having serious martian fluffy bunny infestation issues, and giant martian cockroaches getting into their base, all is well?

Well, there is a serious, supply issue with Mars bars, and the local Martians are up in arms about copyright, well the slogan is more likely.

                      They want it changed to....

A Mars a Day helps you work, rest and dominate the Earth?

                      Not as catchy?

The dogs are not used anywhere near the experiments. They are only used tracking down nosey Snowdens.

dammit, Anthony — have you kidnapped Matt Damon an' set fire to his hair?
Of course not! We learned a long time ago the a woman's hair will burn twice as bright and longer due to a history of gels, highlights and dye. Don't you dare accuse us of wasting tax payer's money!

                      The nerve of some people.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.
