I was gone for the last day or so and it seems the liveliest thread here in a long time has dissappeared.
It seems strange that after so much discussion that it it may have been deleted , but it looks that way, or am I just blind and unable to see it?

    Someone must have blown their chill. Either that or someone reported it to Obama's team and they made Allen remove the thread. There is a post on the White House official blog that asks that opposition posts and emails be reported. - The link's on my twitter blog.

    Which one is that you are referring to?

    I see the ones where we flame Barnacke and Paulson are still living.

    Someone deleted the bank failure thread and I saw nothing there that was bad or even political.

    Maybe something is wrong with the system though because also in the PIPS forum a completely innocuous thread about a blog contest that has been going for months was deleted last night too.

    I just got wind of a really funny one liner and the sick but funny joke thread
    is gone, too. I'm pretty sure that one couldn't have been considered to
    be politically or religiously offensive.

      Maybe the definition of political is being tightened up to include banks, economy, health care and everything else that leads back to politics.

      Or maybe some idjit jumped into those threads and made them political. I posted the bank stuff because I found it interesting but no biggie.

      Perhaps it was a glitch but I doubt it. The only thing that makes me wonder is that in the MF some things aren't being removed - threads that should be "help desk" for various product sites and promotions being creatively done.

      But it is what it is - move on.:rolleyes:

        As somebody who used to get very upset at removed threads with no
        real cause, I just don't care anymore.

        I now enjoy a thread for as long as it's up there and when it's gone it's gone.

        It saves a lot of gray hairs and keeps the blood pressure very low.

        Ultimately, it just ain't worth getting upset about.

          I agree with much of what you said, which is why I didn't even ask what happened. I went back like 4 pages, saw I went to 8/11(before the deletion), and just thought "oh well". and continued with other threads.

          It is ironic what you said about blood pressure. In the heat of one conversation, someone painted a picture of me being some heated and angry person with a speech impediment viewing this as my reason for living. NONE of that is true by the way. They ALSO said that I could get my blood pressure up, and burst a blood vessel. Well, my blood pressure was SLIGHTLY elevated(HEY, I am overweight and DO get a lot of sodium. I also didn't exercise much), and my aorta DID nearly explode. But it wasn't because of this forum.

    I'm actually not upset, just surprised. It was a very political thread,even though the OP claimed it wasn't,and even came back later and voiced his own political view.
    It was a thread that got the most attention in here in along time,and even thought political threads "are forbidden" I was surprised to see it go on for as long as it did.
    I had expected it to be gone long before it was.
    It was also a thread that could have become highly volatile (sp?) but imo didn't.
    So,even though the topic was forbidden,it seemed we had discussed it quite well without the angry harsh attitudes that other political topics had created, so I was surprised that it got deleted after lasting as long as it had.

    See, this is why that thread got political. You were the one to start all of the Obama's lying BS. Your statement is wrong by the way. If the public option doesn't happen the bill isn't dead. Plus, he hasn't said the public option is off the table.

      THAT reminds me of a good point I made. Your argument around these lines is just not right. A document is used only as it is understood, and a law is stretched or restricted accordingly. I am not the only one saying this. LAWYERS are saying this. DOCTORS are saying this. Even the CONSTITUTION is being deformed. The first amendment is being used to prohibit religion even though it SPECIFICALLY says NOT to! The 2nd amendment is all but ignored and claims are made that it says the opposite of what it says. There is the little telephone game. ANY lawyer worth his/her salt here will tell you I am right, though I can see no way anyone can claim I am wrong here.

      So if you say I misunderstood this, you are saying it is a poorly written bill that should be rewritten. As Greta Van Susteren said, one of the lawyers I spoke of, such an improperly written bill will not be implemented as intended.

      Anyway, I don't care to further this thread down the same path as the last one.
