I’ve said it a hundred times before – there is NO governing body to internet marketing.

YOU make the rules for how your business runs.

Just quoted a newbie who posted this out there.

And anyway it does your soul good to break the rules every now and again Lol
In all due respect, I do not understand the point of this Thread. In US there are some Laws governing it. For instance in some States you cannot do business as an Amazon Affiliate.

That's Amazons rules, not any government laws.

ACTUALLY, AMAZON is OK with it! You simply won't get paid by them! NOPE, it ISN'T amazons rules. They earlier paid all. NOW, they have harder times, and may lose money, if they pay the associates because they then get entangled in rules. So they DON'T!

But you can be in any of the 50 states or the possessions, etc... And amazon will still sell to people you sent their way.

Well, it's true to a point. There may not be an Internet Marketing "Commission," but there are agencies that make laws that Internet Marketers need to follow such as the FTC and the IRS. I'm sure Internet Marketers from other countries also have to defer to their government's tax and commerce laws.

I agree that you can make the rules as far as how you decide to run your business as it pertains to when you get up, where and how much you work. I think that's why most people love it.

I don't, however, recommend that you break any rules if you can help it. That can end up being very costly.

Groan, just another newbie, giving his sig, a plug!

Might pay to offer some useful advise next time?

There are a ton of bodies governing what you can and can't do on the internet, or how you you conduct your online business activities.

YOU make the rules for how your business runs.
Only within the boundaries of the law(s).

Don’t let anyone tell you differently.
Completely ignore that sentence unless you want to lose everything.

And anyway it does your soul good to break the rules every now and again Lol
First you say there are no rules, and then you advocate breaking them.

Are you aware that promoting the breaking of laws is a crime in itself?

This is the most stupid piece of advice I've ever seen published on this forum (and that takes some doing).

It is also a good indication to any potential clients or customers of how this person operates their business. The poster has quite clearly told you they cannot be trusted.

When you live in Nigeria and promote a site registered two weeks ago in Panama you think "they can't tell me what to do". Good luck with that.

WHO'S YOU? YEP, business isn't regulated. WHO could do it? And YEP, marketing isn't regulated! WHO could do THAT?

They don't REALLY regulate THAT per se, but PEOPLE that DO it! So how do they do THAT?

IMPRISON natural people! TAX and FINE NATURAL people. KILL NON natural people. They cut off your suppliers and/or THEIR suppliers.

So if you want to sell me a gun that can shoot a quail a thousand miles away without aiming, GREAT! I might get the gun and paypal will refuse to pay while the government fines you and sues.

BTW, and there IS precedent for this. If you sell a person contraband info, from your OWN server, you may figure it is 100% SAFE, and nobody can touch you, right?

WRONG! For starters, they can cut your access to the internet, and shut down the merchant provider. They have done it before. HECK, many merchant providers will do it proactively, with NO request. CLICKBANK and PAYPAL are two good examples there.

Well, there is the pesky little FTC and the IRS and just plain old law enforcement if you break the rules ... by the way, it gives me a great deal of confidence in your products you're shilling to know that you have no respect for laws governing fair and honest business practices.

... and no, I do not want your secrets.
