I almost found a way to justify Adobe Cloud.

So far I've resisted. Kindof morally opposed, just on general principles. So my new Win10 box has only Gimp. And I'm slowly (re)learning the basics.

But I'm working on a project that has me split across several machines. Work desktop. Home desktop. macbook. Win10 VM on macbook. Remote office desktop. HEY! Creative cloud is licensed to the USER not the machine, so yea, it's like $25 a month (PS + AI), but I can actually justify that for this project.

So I went online to set it up....

Turns out you can only use it on two machines. They can't even get per user licensing right. wtf.

I'm honestly thinking I've bought my last Adobe product, and there will be no more. Ever.

I love my Creative Cloud subscription . I get to use the programs I actually need as well as play with the others I could never justify buying. I pay $50 a month for the entire suite.

Just like my computer, since it allows me to make money, I consider it an investment and not an expense. I can't get a good cup of coffee for under $2. I'm not going to bitch about spending less than that on a suite of products that would cost thousands of dollars to purchase.

But that's just me and I have my own unique perspective on this type of thing. :-) Obviously.

And I was ready to accept that same rationale for myself.

But I'm not going to pay 3x just because I use 5 or 6 "computers".

(Mostly, I only carry a SDHC card around with me, except when I need to work mobile, then I carry the macbook).

No one said life is fair. Anyone able to afford owning 5 or 6 computers should be able to generate enough income with them to cover the expense.

      I cried because I had no shoes . . . . . . .

Not many people get to where they can afford 5 or 6 computers by spending money randomly and without thought just because it's in their pocket. Just sayin'

This just in: apparently there's an open source alternative to AI that's at least viable. I'll be giving it a look in the coming weeks. Inkscape

Oh, and I really have 2 computers a desktop and a macbook (with various VM's), plus a work computer (not paid for by me). My remote office PC is my 5 year old workstation recycled and redeployed.

Only reason I have the macbook is because its required by Apple in order to build iOS apps. I bought the smallest cheapest one, then added memory and cpu because I actually needed it.

While I did build the one desktop first class , I'm not exactly a flush with a proliferation of expensive computer toys.

Or you could go and buy and old version of Photoshop, (for a few hundred) and use that, most recent features aren't that good anyway, not unless you want rigid, and sloppy tricks!

I have CS2, and couldn't be happier, although if l got a new Laptop, it might have compatibility issues, but with my current one, no prob,.

But, yeah, l suspect that online, would be slow, and if you can't get internet access, (shopping centre) then you can't do anything!

      But each their own!

I guess that would be a problem, but since all the apps are downloaded to your computer, you don't need Internet access to run them, only to update them.

Ok, so we should ask Claude then?

Yes, l used windows 10 today, well, after spending ten minutes trying to figure out how to access a memory stick!

          I will stay with 7!

Apps, you mean the main software? ok, from he research l did, (l considered it a while ago) unless you have internet access, no show?

And my main shopping centre has one hour only, the library is all day, unless it is a public holiday, or our premiere makes up one, then it is shut?

Seems like we should have an old one as a backup?

    I have (had) CS3.

On Win 7 w/ 2550x1440 monitors it was perfectly usable.

On Windows 10 w/ 4k monitors, it's almost unusable. In 2007 nobody had any concept of resolutions like these, and so scaling the UI elements was never really a thing.

Gimp, Irfanview, and Inkscape are all I need right now. Still, they don't have the firepower of the Adobe products, and eventually I will move over.

All you need is a dictionary, or is that above your skill level? :-)

Additionally, I thought that was the term used in AU.

Well, l did have a thousand views for my Mars thread, before it got canned, so, l would say a good thousand?

Not sure about the Teslar circuit one, but Whateverpedia, certainly became quiet after he reread it, (or watched the video) so zero deniers, is my guess?

Holy crap. Let me get this straight. So, what you are saying is, if anyone reads your post, they obviously agree with it? What planet are you living on? Oh, wait. That would be Mars.

Scaring someone away because they fear that what you have may be contagious does not mean they agree with you. Most of us were taught at an early to stay away from the strange man.

It's a well known fact the sipping tea before posting ridiculous theories, or claiming proof thereof, guarantees their plausibility, if not certainty.
Heresay may convince, but proof usually does?
You do not possess a single shed of proof on any of your claims. I realize that you have yourself convinced, but you're obviously not aware of the snickering that your claims bring.

I hate to be cruel, but most of the folks here are much too nice to want to hurt your feelings. I'm not one of them. I regard challenging your claims as a moral obligation. I care about you and I implore you to seek professional help. :-)

That would be your call. My experience is that once folks feel that they are losing the upper hand, they make a rapid withdraw. It's that old 'heat-kitchen' thing.
