I think that time people eats the best things of nature. They can eat fruits, vegetables, and good carbs, Which helps them to live more than us. But the population is increasing day by day and the foods are not increasing. So financial problem is now everywhere. Though some countries are still rich now, But maybe it shouldn't be for long time. It will not lasts long.

I think it's what they didn't eat that may count the most.

No dyes or additives or palm kernel oil or high fructose syrup or chemical preservatives or other goodies in our processed foods today.

They milked the cows and let the milk sit for a few hours so the cream would rise to the top...they made their own butter....their beef and pork and poultry were not fed additives, hormones, chemicals and antibiotics.

They missed out on a lot of things - pesticides, fertilizer, GMO seeds.

But - if health care back then were what it is now....those folks would live longer and be healthier than we are.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

They ate what ever they could stick a fork in that didn't run away before reaching their mouth.

I've managed to live the full life of someone from that era - so this is all bonus time now.

They were very opportunistic. Yes, they planted. But much of what they ate was whatever presented itself.

Life Expectancy: The boom in native population in the early 19th century was even more remarkable considering the low life expectancies of the time. By one estimate, a white man who had reached his 20th birthday could expect to live just another 19 years. A white woman at 20 would live, on average, only a total of 38.8 years.

      From the next paragraph:

Disease was rampant during this time. During the War of 1812, which concluded in 1815, more soldiers died from disease than from fighting. The main causes of death for adults during this period were malaria and tuberculosis, while children most commonly died from measles, mumps, and whooping cough, all preventable today.

Just like today, some of us will die in an accident, or die from AIDS, Emphysema, heart attack, cancer.... So why bother eating at all?

In fact....We'll eventually forget some of the things we have learned. It kind of defeats the whole learning idea, doesn't it?

Why bother learning anything at all?

It doesn't take much time to post forum LOLs.

Also, porn only takes 3 minutes. I'm multitasking and watching porn right now as I type this with dragon naturally speaking.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

I don't imagine there was any kind of health food industry 200 years ago. Most people would have just eaten whatever was available that they could afford.

Much of that food might have been healthier in many respects, but it couldn't have prevented the sort of diseases that were the primary cause of premature deaths.
