Back in early 2013 we bought a late 2012 Prius hybrid model A. Great car and 44.1 miles to the gallon. Inside, the raised central fascia between the front seats with the gear knob on it and all the screens made me comment that it resembled a space ship.

We used that and an old 1996 Ford Ranger Truck. Late last year the wife sold the truck and bought a 2015 same model Prius, very little change except it had a backup camera.

The lease purchase was finishing on the original Prius so we took it down to the dealership yesterday and they said they would give us 14k on it. So, to cut a long story short we came home with the dark electric blue model.

Wow, what a makeover, all color screens, Sat Nav, XM Sat Radio, Voice assist, Blind spot warning on mirrors, powered leather seats with heating. The list goes on. For me, the most impressive was the 52 mpg rating, 885 mile range on a full tank and the new led torch headlights that do not dazzle motorists and really light up the road.

Here is a slideshow, click one and flick through the pics...

Congrats ... nice car. My choice was between a Dodge Ram truck or a Prius and living where I live, the truck was the only really logical choice, but if I wanted two cars, the Prius would be my second choice.

ACTUALLY, today(Starting a couple years ago, but especially THIS model year), a number of cars seem to have most of that. As I recall, google was working on an Android mod to provide this KIND of stuff also. Maybe it is the standard platform. Here is a video about installing an AFTER market unit: Of course a lot of manufacturers would LOVE this. They can offer a TON more features and even LOWER their cost while increasing the value and sale price. Google did the same with the phone, and you can see how THAT standardized.

Of course that may not have anything to do with the 52 MPH rating. But that is only a 20% performance improvement, and a number of things could explain that. Car/computer manufacturers are always tweaking specs.
